Youtube Tuesday – Games you wish were on a Nintendo Console

Youtube_Tuesday_Trailer

I have been following this title since it was originally announced way back in the day. It has been compared to various Nintendo games and have even been under scrutiny how close it resembles some of them. While I wish that this game could be released on the Wii, it seems the only option is the PS3 due the sheer amount of processing power the game needs to operate.

However, I was sure that this title was going to stay in Japan until Atlus announced that they will be bringing it over in May of 2010. Be sure to let me know your thoughts on this title.

Also, does this remind anyone of the Legend of Zelda at all?

Looks decent… but my final judgment will depend heavily on storyline, humor, and replay value.

Right now, this game seems more like a downloadable (ie: $20 or less) title instead of a full retail release. Convincing me to part with $60 requires more than a cute idea… but maybe there is more to 3D Dot Game Heroes than meets the eye?

    Engrish introduction text was hysterical.

  4. angiulo says:

    It’s Lego Zelda!

  5. Abysmal says:

Gahhh….I can’t wait for May. First day buy for me. I don’t even care.

  6. Abysmal says:

Wait…anyone else notice the Spelunker at 1:39?

  7. elmer says:

Do you think so? I don’t know, but I reckon it should be achievable on Wii.

As for games I were available, I’d say: Mirror’s Edge.

  8. Dover says:

I would say that 3D Dot particle effect that makes up everything would probably cause some lag on the Wii, but it might work…

The game does look fantastic though.

  9. deepthought says:

i’d like to see mirror’s edge on the wii….

This game looks like it could be easily handled by the Boom Blox engine…

It is, quite literally, a bunch of bricks. Most video game systems can render a bunch of bricks.

That was a joke, right? Was that a real trailer?

Cause it looked like a copy of zelda to me……. even the music….

  12. Mitch475 says:

That looks a lot like Zelda. Especially at 1:32 with the chickens.

  13. Gunder says:

Yeah, that looked and sounded way too much like Link to the Past with a tiny bit of character design influence from Dragon Warrior, Zelda II and early Final Fantasy.

  14. Jonkind says:

Wow, that video is VERY Zelda-ish. VERY.

Games I wish were on a Nintendo platform, because i think they would be well suited there:

    Litle Big Planet
    Braid
    Shadow of the Colossus
    Street Fighter 4
    Resident Evil 5

  15. Warren says:

This reminds me of the original and SNES Zelda games. It also looks an awefully lot like the Dragon Warrior games…er Dragon Quest. It is quite obvious the creators of this game are in love with old school gaming…and that isn’t a bad thing.

This is one of the games that will make me get a PS3.
