I still haven’t had a chance to play it, but the 1600 Wii Points I have left over from the holiday are as good as spent on it and [a WiiWare title to be named later]. Who out there has this stellar title? Impressions?

As someone who has had a chance to play and enjoy this lovingly crafted game I can’t wait for the sequel.

I’ve bought it this morning and played it a little before going to work, and so far the game is really fun. I just want to go home and play it again

I got it and it’s great. Definitely worth the 10 bucks. It kind of reminds me of WindWaker, but I guess that’s inevitable.

I’ve only played about half an hour, but it rocks. Visually, the game is gorgeous. The music is very soothing and relaxing. It’s very appropriate to the setting. The controls are tight and being able to control the wind allows for some creative and interesting gameplay ideas. If you are on the fence about this one, you should buy it. These are the type of games that Wiiware needs.

Kick ass.

I’ve leisurely spent three hours playing it, Having fun trying to think up attack combos/possibilities. I’m glad there’s a sequel in the works, since I think I’m almost at the end of the game (sad face). Still haven’t picked up all the secret idols, though, so there’s that to give it a bit more length.
Definitely get this. It’s worth the $10.

Loved it. It was well worth the $10. The game was beautiful and polished and the wind mechanic really worked. I loved how the wind actually affects the environment and the people. The only problem with the game is that it left you wanting more after you’ve finished it. Good thing a sequel has been announced.

Some questions for those who have bought it:
1) I heard there was a few glitches in the game. There was a video on GoNintendo that had the player in a “pit” of sorts and his player couldn’t get out of it. Said they had to restart the game to avoid this happening. Has this happened to anyone?
2) How long does it take to finish?

$10 well spent. I only played up to the first save point, but look forward to playing more. The vibe is very mellow, so far.

I’d have probably spend $25 for it (instead I got My Life as King along with it for a grand total of $25… totally worthwhile deal). Lost Winds is fantastic. A little point and click adventure a-la Zac and Wiki but in the form of a platformer with puzzles and level design almost on par with Valve. I love every second of it. The puzzles are challenging but not to the point of frustration, there’s not that many bad guys to worry about so you can concentrate on a more puzzle oriented game… it’s a weird comparison but it feels a bit like Portal (without GLaDOS, that might have improved it. @Rushli0n… don’t know and don’t know. I haven’t had any problems with it, but who knows. The game hasn’t had years of play testing like most mainstream games so there could be bugs somewhere. As for how long, I think I played maybe 4 hours yesterday and still had 4 things to find. It’s not gonna be a 40 hour epic, best get straight with that now. Average player might push 10 if not 6 hours I’d bet… but it’s a $10 game with tons of secrets to find and explore. The fun/utility you get out of the game is totally worth the investment. Again, like Portal.

Thanks for the feedback. One more:
Do you use the nunchuk for moving him or is it exactly like Zak & Wiki where you only use the remote?
May 13th, 2008 at 4:18 pm
Nunchuck is needed. The remote is used to push and lift the character, but you use the nunchuck’s joystick to move the character from side to side. The character can climb over small steps on his own when you push with the nunchuck (it looks really cute!)
The game looks definitely AAA. I’ve only played a little bit, but it feels like a game that you would have payed full price for!

FYI, my playtime counter was at 3:00 on the dot after beating the endboss.
I never came across a pit trap, and I did some thorough exploring whenever I could.

@rushli0n
This happened to me just now. I think i’m moments from the boss. I’ll be checking that vid to confirm, but at least one part is definitely glitched (though I think you have to work at it to get yourself stuck)

I haven’t even played LostWinds for more than 20 minutes and I want a sequel… bring it on!

I got Lost Winds and Okami at the same time, and Lost Winds is definitely winning over my heart faster and stronger.
