Wii Needs - smarter third party developers

Just a quick thought about third party games on the Wii:
Is the fact that there is a lack of decent third party titles on the Wii the fault of Nintendo for its decision to go low-tech Wiimote control, or do third party developers today generally suck at thinking up new ideas?
Not an entirely fair question, I admit — it’s more of a blatantly biased diatribe with no basis in fact — so think of it as a call to arms to third party developers to think outside the box. It’s almost masochistic to develop a “next-gen” title today given the amount of money and risk involved. Their wallets will thank them.

I would say that even Nintendo at this point could get lumped in. There are some obvious games that should be on the Wii. Mini-golf anyone?

Well considering the highest rated DS game from a Western 3rd party developer is a Tony Hawk game at 84%, I’d say developers are really a bit shit.
They’re shit at trying
They’re shit at thinking
They’re shit at executing
They’re shit at making obvious business sense.
And they complain that they never have a chance against Nintendo’s own 1st party software.
If they EVER REALLY TRIED, we’d actually be able to test that theory.

to be fair… nintendo has had a lot more time to think of ideas than 3rd parties have had… honestly… it hasn’t been around that long… wait until 2008 for 3rd parties to start showing their creativity…

Seen as Nintendo let them all know what they were doing in October 2005, I think 2008 is a bit shit.
Seen as DS has actually been in stores for 2 and a half years and still isn’t being taken advantage of, I think that’s a bit shit too.
Besides, seen as Wii is a souped up Gamecube (while despite having 10X the power is treated like a PSP) and not a supercomputer, the time between having an idea and implementing it was supposed to be short…unless you’re crap at having ideas and executing…summing up 3rd parties…who are a bit shit.

I am getting pissed with all the bloddy PORTS from LESSER systems.
This is total garbage, and with half asses, tacked on Wii motion controls.
3rd party developers need to either make games from the ground up and actually MAXIMISE the Wii’s graphics AND controls, or just dont make any friggen GABAGE games in the first place.

I’ve been thinking about this, and I challenge anyone to think of a single Western 3rd party game exclusive for ANY Nintendo system since SNES that had serious development resource and skill put into it.
Infendo, I hope someone is reading, because I challenge you.
I can’t think of one, and it makes the “we can never compete” argument sound like crap.

Wii-Wii got it right, I am starting to dispair at the lack of games that properly use the Wiimote, rather than regular games that use the wiimote like a controller - and yes, that includes Paper Mario!
