Just goes to show you that Metacritic knows absolutely nothing.

Following your logic, Johnny, Metacritic is showing us that game reviewers across the web know absolutely nothing. Don’t shoot the messenger.

Twilight Princess was so good… especially down the 2nd time.

While I enjoy consulting Metacritic before any game purchase, I know enough about their scoring system so as not to take their score averages at face value! Only the extreme scores (above 85 and below 60, in my opinion) can be trusted at face value.
For everything in between 60 and 85, it is a matter of personal taste. That’s why you have to read the reviews, or at least the excerpts published on the site! Many great games, and especially original games, get slapped with an average between those two scores simply because some critics “won’t get it”, either because they came to the game with the wrong expectations, or were too
worn out and not in the right frame of mind to play that kind of game when they reviewed it.
I’m not saying that most critics are that way, just that it takes only two or three bad scores to pull a game down to the eighties or seventies, so you better read some of the reviews. I tend to read the highest and lowest score reviews, to get an idea of what to expect out of a game.

Well, InvisibleMan hit the nail on the head. Sure that average scores are a good guideline but the sites like Metacritic and Gamerankings do _link_ to source articles for a reason

Well… That proves NOTHING. Sonic should be on that list.

for a nintendo system, those scores drop off a lot quicker than i expect.

Excite Truck should’ve been up in the top 5. That game is a blast.

Matewha?
Anyway, most of those games deserve a better score than that. Why dont you infendo, make a list of IGN’s or NP’s top scorers? IGN and NP’s ratings are more acurate (and trusted) than that.

Pretty weak. Wii needs more triple-A titles.
June 6th, 2007 at 10:06 am
To droop4: Metacritic does include IGN’s and NP’s scores!

I think Trauma Center should be #4… sports titles, ugh. Besides, the game deserves at least an 80%. Silly reviewers. Let’s see where RE4: Wii Edition lands when it hits…

To invisibleman: I know, what im saying is that Infendo should use those scores by IGN or NP, because most of the people here agree that Metametic may not be as reliable.
