Reggie tells NY Times it’s good to be on top

Reggie talks Nintendo dominance in speaking with the New York Times during the company’s media summit this past week…
“Only twice has one company simultaneously had the No. 1 new hardware console, the No. 1 portable console, the No. 1-selling game and been the No. 1 overall software publisher. The first time was Nintendo in the ’80s. The second time is Nintendo now.”

I’m not trying to be too judgemental, but this infendo article, and it’s title specifically, make it sound like Reggie is being a bullish braggart. No where in the article linked does he even allude to a “it’s good to be on top” type of comment. I was surprised when I saw this headline because it didn’t sound like typical Reggie, who is usually pretty classy in his comments. In reading the linked article, I think you may have misrepresented it here. Reggie’s comments relate more to the fact that their different strategies are garnering different results, results only Nintendo has previously attained back in the 80’s. Strategies that find Nintendo not only competing with Sony and MS but with movies, and TV shows. Maybe a more accurate headline would have been “It’s good to be back”.
I love the Hulk image though. thats great.

“make it sound like Reggie is being a bullish braggart.” wait. He is NOT? isn’t this the same Reggie name-taker?

Reggie is my hero for proudly backing one of my favorite game companies and bringing it back to it’s former glory. Everyone at Nintendo should be proud of themselves.

Hope they don’t get cocky. Because we know what happened last time.. It’s hardly the time to be talking about being number one. Take out the 360 then we’ll talk.
