Poll - Wii Fit
Tuesday, February 12th, 2008 at 1:19pm by David
In Japan, Wii Fit has sold over a million units. But are you excited for it to come out in your country? While it seems like fun, Wii seems to be getting a lot of peripherals without a lot of additional software for them. Reggie seems to think Wii Fit is it, but do you? This week we ask:
What is Wii Fit?

I applaud Wii Fit for its innovation, and I want to try it. But I wouldn’t go as far as to crown it “IT”.
Hey Reggie, how about getting us some decent online play first? Welcome to 1995.

I think Wii Fit is the entry way for some very exciting new software… In that sense, it is indeed IT!

wii fit is just a gimmick (personally i can’t see it doing anything more useful than helping you stretch or yoga type workouts, which for the average couch spud won’t do squat; can we say cardio?) and will pass just like the power glove or power pad or ROB or virtual boy or super scope or etc…they just never follow up with any good software for these products. but we’ll buy a bunch anyway won’t we

I don’t see myself ” playing” Wii fit so much.
I exercise at a Gym, in public, often with multiple friends.
I have no need for an exercise simulation , and most definitively have no need for yet another plastic peripheral in my living room…

I think the Balance board is IT, but not so much Wii Fit…..

It’ll do well in the US… probably better if they advertise it at 2 in the morning on Comedy Central or Sci-Fi Channel.
I personally don’t really see what it’ll get me that I don’t already get from Dance Dance Revolution, fitness-wise, and I haven’t seen any kind of compelling gameplay at all yet. I’m also about ten times as concerned about Wii Fit related injuries than I am about general Wii related injuries.
But I have so many games yet to play and buy that I can afford to reserve judgment till it actually shows up. As far as new Wii features go, I’m way more jazzed about WiiWare.

I definitely want the game, but I don’t think it is “it”.

I can see the technological advancement, and I guess I can see its appeal, but it’s definitely not for me.

Pass. Nintendo is notorious for not supporting it’s own extras very well. Heck the Wii Zapper is already pretty much old news.

Really, guys? Don’t you see a snowboarding game benefitting from the Wii Fit board?
