Open Letter to Nintendo: HIRE Johnny Lee
Saturday, December 22nd, 2007 at 2:08pm by JackHe’s at it again … Johnny Lee is blowing minds and expanding the scope and reach of the Wii remote with his incredible inventions. Nintendo, snatch this guy up today and pay him lots of money–the future of video games depends on it!
Well, ok, maybe not, but this kid’s pretty set in life after he gets out of school, IMHO.

I like to believe Nintendo already has similar research in place… However this guy will be a valuable resource for which ever smart developer that puts him on the payroll.

This kid is a genius. Just hire him now, screw finishing school.
December 22nd, 2007 at 9:37 pm
how about we just screw him and go straight to the big n ourselves, like he said the softwares up for free download on his site, if he’s just gonna sit around and make video demonstrations for the rest of his life then i’m gonna make some money. BTW that 3d stuff is frickin amazing imagine playing mp3 with that kinda technology.

I think that Johnny Lee should truly be a part of Nintendo’s future. While I am sure there are other people out there that realize some of the available potential, Johnny is creating software that takes advantage of it. Heck, utilizing the Wii-mote to create a very cheap and touch-screen display could be a product on its own. This new video and software should be placed on the VC. I would gladly pay for it if he made it into a cheap shooter. If Nintendo doesn’t pick him up, someone else definitely should because he could definitely become the new Miamoto of our generation.

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!

Very interesting, seriously I agree, screw finishing school. If you’re already at this point, what the heck is the point of going to school? Anyone doing development on the Wii should be racing to get this guy hired!

He is one intelligent kid, and man, I really wish some games would use that. Like a boxing game, so you would actually have to move your body, not just the controllers. And Time Crisis would be absolutely perfect using that control scheme.

DUDE, when we were in the camera’s POV, I swear that closest target was going to come out of the TV instead of just disappearing to the side.

This guy never ceases to amaze me…
It’s the way he is always thinking outside the box! Most of his inventions stem from simply seeing the Wii mechanism from a backwards point of view: using the infrared lights as the input device instead of the infrared-sensitive camera (the Wiimote).

They’ve been doing this in the real IMAX theaters (the ones with the full head display) for years. Go to the one in Seattle to see what I mean.
