EA: We backed the wrong horse in Xbox 360/PS3
Friday, July 27th, 2007 at 10:15am by Jack“Our stock hasn’t moved as much as we’d like,” EA CEO John Riccitello told one investor during a Q&A. He admitted that EA was on the “wrong horse” by concentrating mainly on the PS3 and Xbox 360 while throwing less resources towards the Wii during the console transition.
But remember, EA had a big restructuring effort last month, so they’re already in front of this issue. The power of the purse and EA Wii Family Controls FTW!

EA doing bad means a avalanche of original games is coming to Nintendo systems. You really can’t say anything alse when the biggest third party developer said it lost number 1 spot for not giving it all out for Nintendo. I guess the Wii will turn out to be like that hip-hop fad.

Funny enough I at least like the EA games that were given to the Wii when they “rushed” titles upon this realization of “backing the wrong horse” than the original titles they’re offering in the near future (i.e. Playground, Boogie, etc…. well, MySims looks interesting at least). I hope Godfather 2 makes it on the Wii (hopefully no more basis on a PS2 build that would hamper how well a GTA-ish game on a Wii could look - gameplay and content though of course should still be a priority otherwise it wouldn’t matter how much better it looks) among others because let’s face it, we’re not exactly getting games like Army of Two, Burnout, etc.
