Activision accepting preorders for GHIII mono fix

Friday, January 4th, 2008 at 1:58am by Blake

GHIIIFrom the horse’s mouth:

We recently became aware that some consumers have not been able to enjoy the full audio output in the Wii version of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. We are currently working with Nintendo and are planning to issue an improved audio experience in future versions of the game. We expect to have re-mastered discs available by early 2008 and we will be offering consumers replacement discs at no cost once they become available… Customers based in North America wanting to pre-register for a free replacement disc can call (866) 780-8286 from 8:00am-8:00pm EST, Monday-Friday, and we will notify you once the replacement discs are available… If you wish to be notified by email as the information on this page is updated, please click the ‘Notify Me by Email if this Answer is Updated’ button.

Stereo, GET!

I’ll end up calling so I don’t have to register an account for their email update. Not a very fast fix, so hopefully they’ll offer a free *something* for people who order the replacement discs, like EA did with the Rock Band guitars. Yeah I know, not the same, but still. I can hope. ;P

Just called and they were very nice. Basicaly they will E-mail you after the disks are avalible. i would just like to say that due to this games long subtitle and their need to specify which game system version they are talking about, the nice lady had to say “Guitar Hero 3: Ledgens of Rock for the Nintendo Wii” about 5 times.

Among their Questions they asked “do you have a sruound sond system?”. I personly dont but I felt compeled to say yes.

I just called and they will mail you a replacement packet. I’m sure you have to mail them your old disk and then they will send you the new one.

    Hmm…
    4 questions/issues:
    1. I’m assuming all my high scores and unlocked songs are stored in the Wii memory and changing disks won’t affect this?
    2. Will I end up with a new GHIII friend code? (grrr if true)
    3. At one point, there was a rumor that this disk would also add the capability of DC. Do we know if this is the case?
    4. They are requiring that you send the old disk back. This sucks as I
play this game a lot and I wonder what the turn around is going to be…
