Well, Nintendo, where the eff is Wii Sports Resort in this 2009 release list you just pushed across the wires? I see Punch-Out!, and a few EA Sports Wii MotionPlus games I’m going to check out, but no 2009 flagship title. Is this your sly marketing-y way of telling us it’s been delayed? I am not amused.

The list is good up to May. I am sure Nintendo has more stuff in the following months. However, does anyone knows what Excitebots: Trick Racing is about? Another Excite racing game?
Excitebotsâ„¢: Trick Racing has elements that make it one of the more unique racing games on the market. It launches April 20 and lets everyone in the family use the Wii Wheelâ„¢ accessory in unique and changing environments, play fun minigames and perform crazy tricks in a game that builds on the Excitebikeâ„¢ and Excite Truckâ„¢ franchises.
Oddly, thats the Nintendo game I’m most looking forward to.
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! To the headline.
“Oh, okay, it’s really just the spring release list” after reading and thinking for a moment.
Considering the resort theme, they might push it in the summer time.
Wii Sports Resort should be out between July 1st-September 30 to either boost sales during the summer or to prepare for the end of the year push. Wii Sports Resorts release date was pushed back so other 3rd party games could take advantage of Wii Motion Plus (Tiger Woods, Sega’s Tennis game, EA’s Tennis game, to name a few).
I want this game. Boo.
No Wii Sports resort?
OMG!, Nintendo is abandoning the casuals!!!111one
notice that a lot of games are missing, like little kings story, muramasa, madworld, etc.
its not a complete list.
good news is, we’re ACTUALLY getting stafy. I never saw that coming
Nintendo has a habit of not putting all of their games on release lists. They put these lists out for retailers to get a heads up on upcoming titles, especially more obscure ones. Nintendo will have no problem selling Wii Sports Resort to retailers and so they don’t need to place it on these lists, and it’s possible that they have not finalized the release date yet. That doesn’t mean that it won’t be out before summer though. Although, since it’s coming out with Wii Motion Plus, it’s possible the release is being pushed back to manufacture enough to pack-in, as well as extra stand-alone packages.
Personally I don’t mind waiting even longer to get my hands on Wii Sports 2, as longs as the delay means that they are making the game even better.
If they are delaying it simply for the sake of making us wait longer, but nothing is being added, well, that’s not very cool.
More time to save my money.
@Used Cisco lol I wish there was a comment of the week award because you’d win it.
I want it for the bundle of the WiiMotion Plus. If I like how it works on that game, I’m getting another MotionPlus attachment. But I thought it was coming out mid-to-late summer, no? Don’t fret peoples.
This confuses me for one reason. There are a few games on that list that – obviously – have release dates that support the motion plus add-on. If Wii sports resort is oming out after these titles, then that motion plus support isn’t going to be accessable (assuming my understanding of motion plus launching with wii sports resort is correct).
I really expect this game in March or April. We should see a release date soon. This can’t be eating up that much time in R&D for them. Unless they might actually be putting some depth behind it.
Yes I know laugh at that comment, I know I am.
