There are more than 300 classic video games available for download on Wii. So which one do you play the most?

Super Contra and Contra III! oh, and Mario RPG/Paper Mario had me hooked for a good long while too.

I think it depends on what mood I’m in at the time.
But one that would have to at least get mentioned would be Super Mario Brothers. Even though there’s really only one scenario, my son and I will spend almost an hour on this game every time we play. We don’t try and help each other to get a high score, instead we do our best to get each other killed (either by using the POW right as the other player is about to knock off an over-turned enemy, or jumping up and hitting that enemy from below to make them turn back to normal, etc…). It is probably the simplest, yet most fun game that we have.

Super Metroid. Definitely. I’ve already played through it something like 8 times on Virtual Console alone. I think I also played through StarFox 64 about 7 or 8 times on Virtual Console, but that was all within the span of a few weeks. On average, I play Super Metroid about every month 1/2-2 months.

Old school games. Donkey Kong, DK Jr., Donkey Kong 3, Dig Dug, etc… and then I mix in a little Tetris Party for good measure.

Gunstar Heroes

Ocarina of Time
I hadn’t played it in so long and I forgot how much fun it is. Plus, it’s LONG (since i’m trying to 100% it) so it’s good value for the 10 bucks.

Sin & Punishment is by far my favorite VC game, as I never played the original. However, I think I play Super Mario Bros. 3 most often, because it’s a little better to consume in short bursts. (Who has time to play 1-2 hours straight anymore!)

Mine would prolly be smb3.
But I don’t have many vc games.

It must be Super Mario 64! Although I haven’t played much Virtual Console titles lately, mostly due to a GameCube/Xbox revival I’m going through right now… My girls just love watching me play Donkey Konga and Pikmin 2 using the original controllers hooked to the Wii!

Shining Force for the SEGA Genisys.
Finished number one and I am almost done number 2 (once I can figure out how to get the Force Sword out of the ground).
If I have less time it is Dig Dug.

Super Metroid. It’s my comfort game and still amazing from beginning to end even after a billion play throughs.

super Mario bros hands down…
I’ve spent so much time in it compared to other games
and I still can’t get myself to beat the game unless I have a fire flower :/
in a distant second, bomberman 93… so fun when the cousins/friends are here!!! good times.

Super Mario World – I’ve always loved that game.
June 29th, 2009 at 1:38 pm
A link to the past has always been good for me, also I played Secret of Mana quite a bit
But I’d have to say Super Mario World, it was the first time I’d played that since the SNES days and I loved every second of it my several 100% play throughs, I bought a classic controller specially for it (have you tried playing that game with a cube pad?!)
Also Super Metroid is amazing, that and the original Metroid got me back into Metroid games in a big way.

Super Mario RPG

Sonic 2, thats its.

Soldier Blade for TG-16 is probably my favorite. I can go back and play it over and over without getting tired of that game. Both the normal and caravan (ie: high score) modes are enjoyable, depending on how much time you want to sink into the game. Best of all, the price is better than the slightly prettier Star Soldier R WiiWare title.
One game series that always seems to get short shrift is Bonk. Although the first game is probably too basic for most people, 2 and 3 were excellent titles that don’t seem to garner nearly enough retro love.

Hard to say… King of the Monsters is loads of fun… Streets of Rage 2 is great… King of Fighters 94 kinda lost its appeal after I bought the collection..
I play a lot of Sonic 3, Super Mario World, and all of Treasure’s stuff (Alien Soldier, Gunstar, S&P, etc…).

Sin and punishment and super contra along with r type {all of them}.
June 29th, 2009 at 6:34 pm
Im sad to be the first to mention Mega Man 9, also Majora’s Mask. Both are great!
June 29th, 2009 at 8:01 pm
I am also still waiting for Uniracers. The VC games have been lacking lately.
June 29th, 2009 at 10:02 pm
Looks like I gotta go download Super Metroid.
I play Ocarina, I already have the Majora cartridge so I didn’t download it. Kirby 64 was pretty fun, too.
If this quiz includes WiiWare, then it’s gotta be the Strong Bad games, especially the first two episodes, and the fourth one.

SMB3 just keeps reeling me back in.
I’m really waiting on Beetle adventure racing though.
June 30th, 2009 at 2:51 pm
I have Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 64, Sonic 2 (master system), Kirby’s Adventure, and Kirby 64. I’ve beaten all except Sonic 2 (stuck in the underwater level), so I don’t really play any of them anymore. Will definitely replay the 64 games at some point though. I’ve been patiently waiting for Majora’s Mask, and now it has come! Too bad I don’t have any money…

sin & punishment, mario rpg, starfox 64
