The full list of Ambassador NES games (at least for Japan)

Nintendo of Japan has revealed all ten of the NES Ambassador games coming free this Thursday to 3DS early adopters:

Super Mario Brothers
Donkey Kong Jr.
Balloon Fight
Ice Climber
The Legend of Zelda
Wrecking Crew
NES Open Tournament Golf
Yoshi
Metroid
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

This list hasn’t yet been confirmed for other regions, but I’d be surprised if any there were any country-specific switch-outs.

What do you think? Glad they didn’t throw in Urban Champion or Donkey Kong Jr. Math?

I can’t wait to see the full list of GBA freebies!

    Pretty boring list. I mean Yoshi? Wrecking Crew? Do people even want those games?

    But Zelda II was a good choice.

  2. magnum says:

    That which is freely given is not widely respected.

  3. Keith says:

    What Yoshi game came out on the NES in NA? I thought he didn’t make his debut until Super Mario World

  4. Skotski says:

    @Nin3DS

    I want Wrecking Crew…
    And I’m pretty darn sure a lot of people want the Yoshi game.

    @Keith

    Yoshi (in America) was known as Yoshi’s Egg in Japan. It seems to be in a similar vain to Tetris.

    I think these are awesome 🙂 Being an early adopter always sucks, but Ninty eased the blow of the first price drop quite nicely. NES games? Sure :).. GBA games? Heck ya! I’m excited to be able to play the original Zelda again, along with Zelda 2 (I really liked that game). The original mario bros deserves a few more hundred run throughs after all. lol The other games? Meh, I’ll try em. Maybe I’ll find some I like!

  7. Hitokiri_Ace says:

    + Metroid. That’ll be fun too.

  8. Brett says:

    So I’m psyched for at least 4 of these games. What is the deal? Are these the only 10 NES games I can get for free? Or are these just the first 10 available for download? Can I download 4 and save my other 6 freebies for when future NES games are released? Anyone know?

  9. Alan says:

    What I don’t understand is … why make NES Classics for the 3DS if they aren’t in 3D? You can already download these games on the Wii, and I’m sure a lot of Wii owners have some of these games already.

    Oh, and these games are confirmed for USA.

    The chance to play Zelda on a portable is nice and same for Adv of Link! I never picked up the GBA carts back when they came out so I’ll finally have a portable Zelda and Link game.

    Not only that, it’ll finally be the first time I play through Adv of Link! I remember my buddies playing it but back then I never got into it.

    Overall, a decent list of freebies… perhaps Nintendo will start to release more NES classics for the 3DS? That would be nice… GB games are fine but playing NES games on a portable would be nice too!

    Wrecking crew is so bad even free is too expensive. Time is money, and my time is worth way more than playing that game.

  12. Nin3DS says:

    @Nin3DS

    I want Wrecking Crew…
    And I’m pretty darn sure a lot of people want the Yoshi game.

    You sure? Keep in mind ‘Yoshi’ here refers to a Game Boy and NES puzzle game, known in other regions as ‘Mario and Yoshi’. I played it before on the original Game Boy, not the greatest game in the world.

    But if you like Wrecking Crew, props to you I guess.

    I don’t want to be a naysayer but this wasn’t worth me buying it early there is maybe 3 I want out of them and them are iffy.

  14. Richard says:

    @ Reaper: But there are more games to come, remember; maybe some of the GBA freebies later this year will appeal to you more. For me, it’s all about Yoshi’s Island. Knowing that one’s coming makes the whole program a success for me! 🙂

  15. Reaper says:

    Well I keep my fingers crossed.
