I loved the first three Monkey Island games, but that newer 3D one really didn’t do it for me. It wasn’t nearly as funny as the earlier games and it just felt like the magic was all gone, and the trailer for this one kinda leaves me with the same feeling. I’m hoping for the best, but I won’t hold my breath, unless maybe they can get Ron Gilbert on board.
I respectfully dissent, Hugbox. I think it looks very promising! And if anybody can get it right, it’s the guys who brought back Sam & Max.
I guess we’ll find out in a month. (I can’t believe we’ll only have to wait a month!)
I sorta agree with Hugbox, Esxape wasn’t nearly as good and the style was definitely wrong. But I hear many good things about TellTale’s Bone and Sam & Max, so I’ll stay hopeful. And hey, if a new Monkey Island is born on WiiWare, maybe the classic ones can finally come to the VC??
YES! Please buy this, please support this game. It’s really fun. Wii is build for games like this.
I’m praying that this is both a very good game, and that it sells well. It may be a far-fetched dream, but if this does well enough, maybe we can get Grim Fandango for the Wii!
Secret of Monkey Island was my favorite game when I was younger. This game looks like it has none of the charm. Was never a fan of using voices.
looks just another way to make money of an old franchise.
If you want to see this game is good or bad just take the nam “Monkey Island” away and change the characters’ looks. Does it still matter?

I never liked adventure games but I have to admit, this looks very cool. Very promising.
Now what’s with Wiiware and random exclusive franchise revivals? Adventure Island, Monkey Island, Contra, etc… I’m starting to warm up to WW.
I might consider picking this up. I remember playing the demo to Escape from Monkey Island a bunch of times when I was a kid and having a blast. It was pretty funny and the puzzles were cool.
