Major Wii U Spring Update Coming Next Week

During today’s Nintendo Direct, Nintendo confirmed that the long-awaited Wii U OS update will be arriving sometime next week. The update includes major improvements to the Wii U’s sluggish loading times, along with a slew of other features such as the Wii U Virtual Console (Edit: Nintendo has stated the Wii U VC will be available the day after the update). As mentioned, the loading tim...

Planned: Wii U Virtual Console Will Allow Play On GamePad

It seems that Nintendo is working on a virtual console that will allow games for the virtual console to be played on the GamePad instead of the T.V.  It is sort of a virtual console inception. “We are moving ahead with development of Virtual Console for Wii U, and we plan to make it so you can play it on the Wii U GamePad alone,” the Nintendo of America rep told Kotaku’s Jason Schreier. In ...

Rumor: Game Boy Advance titles to finally make their way to 3DS eShop?

Ever since the 3DS Game Boy Virtual Console service was first unveiled, owners of Nintendo’s latest handheld have been clamoring at the thought of Game Boy Advance titles being available for purchase. For now, early adopters of the 3DS Ambassador program have only had the opportunity to download classic GBA titles on their handheld. However, according to a leaked image, that may possibly cha...

PSA: Classic SNES Controllers Now Available for Wii

Old School gamers will be happy to learn that a classic SNES controller for the Wii is now available at ThinkGeek. As someone who has lamented that Club Nintendo Japan appeared to be the only way to pick one of these up, I am thrilled that they can be ordered in North America now. The Super Nintendo still remains my favorite system ever and I try to go back and play the classics on my Wii whenever...

A great week for Virtual Consoles

3DS gets Kirby’s Dream Land and Wii gets Final Fantasy III (known as FF VI in Japan). Classic digital downloads rule the roost this week. I have to admit, the 3DS Virtual Console has surprised me. It was the one feature I thought I’d never use, and now I’m about to purchase my third title. There’s a moral here somewhere about gameplay over graphics, but let’s just mov...

eShop details emerge, Super Mario Land and Alleyway rated for ESRB

The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) are rather notorious for leaking titles before they were ment to be revealed, and thanks to them we now have a good idea of what to expect for next week’s eShop launch. The ESRB website has rated Super Mario Land and Alleyway for the Nintendo 3DS, giving each a rating of E for Everyone. No price has been announced for either title. In other eSho...

What eShop titles do you want most?

June has a lot of things going for it. e3 starts next month, 3DS gets it’s first “must have” title, and the eShop finally launches for Nintendo’s newest handheld. Not to bad! I always love revising old classics so the most exciting feature for the eShop, to me, is the virtual console support. As such, I would like to ask you, Infendo, what classic games are you hoping to ...

Monday, May 16th, a big wish comes true for many game fans: Chrono Trigger, the original time-bending, actions-have-consequences, multiple-endings, medieval, futuristic, Tolkienesque, steampunk, everything-but-the-kitchen-sink Super Nintendo RPG classic arrives on Wii via the Virtual Console service. How much would you pay for classic Game Boy titles on 3DS Virtual Console?

If NES games were around $5 on Wii’s Virtual Console, I’m going to take a guess that original black & white Game Boy titles will clock in at $3. To be honest, you probably would have a lot more sales if you just went with $1 each, though I doubt Nintendo would ever go that low. How much would be willing to pay for classic Game Boy titles on the 3DS Virtual Console?

After ten years, does Kirby 64 hold up?

Sunday’s release of Kirby’s Epic Yarn will bring us the Pink Guy’s first console platformer in a decade! With the new adventure just four days away, this is a great time to revisit Kirby 64, a game that still proves speed isn’t everything. Kirby’s in no hurry to save the world as he waddles slowly and happily through this N64 2.5D platform quest. He even has time for ...

Ever wanted an Infendo Colored Wii? Nintendo Japan has got you covered: a limited edition red console in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Super Mario Bros.  It’s not “official” Infendo swag, sure – but you can bet your britches the first fan to slap a white “Infendo” logo on this baby will earn a special place in our hearts. If your Wii died tomorrow…

Which downloaded games would you re-purchase? Nintendo’s policy on downloaded Wiiware and Virtual Console games’locking them to one console per purchase’annoys just about everyone. If your machine dies and Nintendo can repair your machine, no problem. If you need to purchase a new Wii, however, you’ve lost all ownership of your downloaded games. So if you had to buy a new machine, whic...
