More Metroid Other M game play footage

YouTube Preview ImageWell would you look at me and my opinion on Metroid Other M. Swaying back in forth like a sock in the wind.

Before, I was skeptical. The response? Critical. Expected. Now, I see this video, and I can admit that I’m more intrigued at this moment in time than I was even a mere five minutes ago.

The voice acting and take-me-seriously Final Fantasy I wear big boy pants cutscenes still have me worried for this beloved franchise, but the insane mixing of 2D, 2.5D and 3D are starting to grow on me. Really, I mean that. I just hope the “narrative” doesn’t get in the way of the most important part of any Metroid title: the game.

From the developers who worked on the Final Fantasy DS ports, comes a game that has been in the works since the Super Nintendo era. Produced by the team responsible for the Fatal Frame series. Nostalgia is a game that is supposed to drag up those nostalgic feelings of playing an old school Super Nintendo RPG games, and while Nostalgia is based on an alternate 19th-century Earth. Adventuring is a serious profession in this world. Those who can use magic exist in the world and those without magic hunt relics of previous civilizations for power. Airships rule the skies as well as sky pirates and dragons.

Nostalgia is a game that is set in an alternate real world 19th-century Earth. In this alternate world people have control over magic and electronic technology has declined in favor of Steam Punk style technology. However, the most interesting thing about Nostalgia is that the game that is suppose to give you that Nostalgic feeling of playing an old school Super Nintendo RPG. While giving you a completely new experience that is refreshing, something most Final Fantasy Role Playing Game can’t give you.
