Japan: Mario Kart Wii off to a good start, sells 594k in one week

Mario Kart Wii

It’s not nearly the launch that Super Smash Bros. Brawl enjoyed, but Mario Kart Wii, at least in Japan, is enjoying brisk sales after a week on the market.

Media Create reports the kooky racing title pushed 594,000 units in Japan since its launch one week ago. It currently sits in the number one software sales spot overseas. Smash Bros Brawl, on the other hand, sold about 874,000 copies in one day, and 1.4 million in its first week.

Regardless, Nintendo has another first party IP hit on its hands. Kudos to them.

Last Smash Bros. video, promise

Consider this post an end note for the Super Smash Bros. Brawl propaganda coverage. It’s Al Gore’s Current TV covering the Brawl launch in Burbank. Leave your thoughts on the game–now a few weeks old–in the comments. How have Infendo’s Thursday night brawls been for you? Have online issues subsided? Who’s unlocked everything? (screen or it didn’t happen!)

[Thanks, Alex]

Super Smash Bros. Brawl online issue resolved!

http://www.infendo.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/225_146648-1-1.jpgEarlier this week, Jack told you about an issue plagueing many Brawl owners who hopped online shortly after buying the game at Midnight launch. I was one of those people and have been holding out for a solution from Nintendo, rather than trying the method of deleting my data and and starting with a fresh Friend Code. This morning, I’d like to report that the issue has been resolved on my system and that I now have access to both Spectator mode and the Wi-Fi Connection Options screen. Many suggestions were floated around on the Nintendo Tech Forums, but I just waited it out and the issue was resolved for me with no action on my part.

Other folks on Nintendo’s Tech Forums are reporting that lag issues are also becoming resolved.

See you on Thursday night!

Super Smash Bros. Brawl online issues?

Monday, March 10th, 2008 at 10:30am by Jack

Wii Smash Bros ErrorUPDATE: It should go without saying that you’d be a fool to delete anything from your console without checking and rechecking this information against other news sources, friends and Nintendo itself.

We received a tip this morning about a new Super Smash Bros. Brawl issue that is not related to those isolated dirty lens problems.

Basically, if you got your game before midnight and started playing online before the system was ready, you were given a glitched Friend Code that messes up some of the title’s online features. Worse yet, the only way to fix this bug is to go into system management and erase all of your hard earned Brawl data. For some players, this means many, many hours of saves need to be deleted.

Our tipster said everyone should check their wi-fi settings to make sure they DO have their wi-fi options menu and spectator mode. “If not, bite the bullet. Reset the data.” Anyone missing theirs?
