Could Wii U Launch with Super Mario Bros. 4?

Could Wii U Launch with Super Mario Bros. 4?

Nintendo has now confirmed that it is working on a 2D Super Mario Bros. game for the Wii U based around the “Mario Experience” demo presented at E3 last year. At the same time, speculation is running wild that this game may be related to the supermario4.com domain recently registered by Nintendo. If the game is already well underway, could Nintendo be returning to those magical days when a new system meant a Mario game on day one?

If so, I’m afraid I will find myself in another lineup outside an EB Games this fall.

Is Hideo Kojima hinting at a new Zone of the Enders for 3DS?

Is Hideo Kojima hinting at a new Zone of the Enders for 3DS?
Kojima Productions is not a development house that Nintendo fans are used to hearing about; after all most of the titles to come out of the studio belong to the Metal Gear series, a franchise that only has one title (Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes) on a Nintendo platform in the post-NES era. In the beginning of the PS2 era the studio created a new franchise built around giant mech combat in Zone of the Enders, and it seems as if Z.O.E. has found a new home on the 3DS.

Hideo Kojima has been teasing fans of a new Z.O.E. title on his official twitter page, and it seems as if 3DS fans have another title to look forward to in the future with Zone of the Enders 3DS. Nothing more that a few tweets have been spoken officially about the title, but this is great news to Nintendo fans as it broadens the 3DS library and hopefully strengthens the relationship between Kojima Productions and Nintendo. This will be the second title the studio brings to Nintendo’s newest handheld, the first being Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D.

It is unknown whether this will simply be a remake adding 3D elements to the original games, or an entirely new entry in the franchise. There are already plans for a Zone of the Enders HD collection for both the Xbox 360 and PS3, so a stereoscopic 3D remake for the 3DS wouldn’t be entirely out of the question.

Either way, I think it’s a safe bet to say that we will learn more at next months Tokyo Game Show. Here’s hoping for an entirely new adventure tailor made for the 3DS!
