Mario Kart 7

Hope to see you tonight, racers!

The time has come to revive the ol’ Infendo Mario Kart 7 Community! I was able to make it to the past two community nights, and what I saw I didn’t like.  Of course, a big thanks to those of you who did make it, but I want to see more groups of 6-8 racers. Also, I wanted to add a little something this week to see how it goes: a late shift. Can’t make it at 7:00 PM US-Eastern time...

Mario Kart 7 Community News: February Edition

I’m afraid I haven’t been able to join the community nights of the past two weeks, and I probably won’t make it tonight, either. But I picked up on plenty of news before that, so that’s what I’m going off of right now. First off, I must apologize to Chris of Texas for tanooki tailing you right at the end of Wii Koopa Kape for the closest win I have ever witnessed. Ser...

Infendo’s Kart Community meets tonight!

Infendo’s growing community of Mario Kart 7 racers, created by Kart-Racer Extraordinaire Holly, meets tonight at 7:00 P.M. U.S. Eastern. The code is: 20-1691-6700-3942. Last week’s meet had a great turnout! I arrived too late to join Holly’s group, but was able to enter one of the three groups playing. I raced through several cups, challenging some of our finest readers, and (as ...

How much would you pay for Mario Kart DLC?

There are only a couple dozen tracks in Mario Kart 7 for 3DS, so I got to thinking about DLC downloadable tracks for the game. I think I’d be willing to pay around $5 for each new “cup” of four courses. Of course, this would create a question around the inclusion of these courses in the online aspect of the game. Do you think this is a good idea and how much would you be willing ...

Mario Kart 7 Community News: January Edition

First of all, let me thank everyone who has participated in our official Infendo community so far. It’s not the most popular community ever, but I’ve gotten more enjoyment out of it than any other community I play in. With that out of the way, I now have some great community news to report! As of today, 17 players have found their way into community races. We reached a record during ou...

How do you deal with Mario Kart’s “Maka Wuhu” problem?

Happy New Year, everyone! From the recent online race activity, it looks like a lot of folks worldwide received Mario Kart 7 for the holidays…and the percentage of “Maka Wuhu” cheaters rose dramatically at the same time! In case you hadn’t heard yet, Mario Kart 7, one of 2011’s best games, contains one weird…glitch? Feature? Let’s call it an “issue&#...

About our Mario Kart 7 community nights…

Community Code: 20-1691-6700-3942 I was glad to see that, even though I only encountered about two other racers during our first MK 7 community night, other racers have found chances to duke it out with each other on the Infendo community. I’m determined to keep the steam going, so here’s my proposal for community nights: plan on them every Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. US-Eastern unless...

More thoughts about Mario Kart 7

Two weeks in, my enjoyment of Mario Kart 7 shows no sign of fading. The online races work so well, this title alone could keep my 3DS in action for the system’s lifespan, just as online racing in Mario Kart Wii kept that console humming through many software droughts. Some random thoughts about the game have cropped up since the review:

Let’s have our first Mario Kart 7 community night, shall we?

Community Code: 20-1691-6700-3942 Here’s what I propose: Saturday, December 17; 7:00 p.m. US/Eastern. There’s no way we can arrange for a time that suits everyone, but if you miss out, don’t worry: this won’t be the last community night! I do want to hear some feedback, though. Will you be able to make it? Should we have it sooner? Comment away, racers.

Take your kart-racing online and join Infendo’s Mario Kart 7 Community!

Community Code: 20-1691-6700-3942 Joining a community in Mario Kart 7 is very simple. In the main menu, select “Online Multiplayer” (you’ll need to be connected to the internet, of course). From the online menu, select “Communities”, then select “Search by Code”. Enter in the community code found at the top of this post and join in. Hope to see you there!

What’s your favorite new gameplay element in Mario Kart 7? Mine buys kart parts

Don’t you love diving into a new Mario Kart game? You get the fun of discovery, the return of old friends, the annoyance of that one guy online picking SNES Rainbow Road every single time… In this generally terrific game, I’ve discovered additions I like more than I thought I would (Lucky 7) and some not so much (Super Leaf). The return of Gold Coins, however–and their new ...

Review: Mario Kart 7 delivers incredible gameplay, the best Rainbow Road ever and one aggravating omission

Before playing Mario Kart 7 for the first time, keep your expectations realistic. This game doesn’t blow away Mario Kart DS or Mario Kart Wii, but instead stands confidently beside them as another great, vastly entertaining installment. It looks and sounds amazing, plays perfectly, and pulls some terrific tricks out of its sleeve, but in the end it’s 100% good old Mario Kart. It brings...
