El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron was most definitely one of the strangest, most beautiful games on display at last month’s E3 in Los Angeles. El Shaddai is a third-person action title developed by character designer Takeyasu Sawaki for the Xbox 360 and PS3 and is scheduled to release in a few weeks.

Destructoid recently attended a preview even for the game, and Shane Bettenhausen of Ignition Entertainment hinted at the possibility of a El Shaddai spin-off title arriving on Wii U. “I think first we’ll probably do more of spin-offs.” Shane tells Destructoid. “Whether that’s DLC, I think it might be cool to port this to Wii U or Vita maybe.”

Given the pedigree of Takeyasu Sawaki who has worked on the Okami and Devil May Cry franchises, this would be great news for Nintendo fans looking towards the future of Wii U. Bettenhausen states that originally the El Shaddai lead character was female and hints that if a spin-off where to happen, she may make an appearence.

The more developers on board with Wii U the better, I say. Would you like to see this game make its way to a Nintendo console near you?

When I had my trip to E3 this year, I spent a lot of time looking at various games for the Wii and the DS. And out of all of the  the Wii games I played I had the best time with Muramasa and the Demon Blade. The game plays smooth and looks fantastic in motion, especially during intense quick battles with ninjas and various enemies you fight. (more…)
