Rock Band 2 Wii compatible with Guitar Hero World Tour instuments

IGN’s recent preview has confirmed that all Guitar Hero World Tour peripherals (guitar, drums, mic) are fully compatible with the final copy of Rock Band 2 for the Wii.

…We were also very pleased to find that peripherals for both Guitar Hero III and Guitar Hero World Tour worked with Rock Band 2…

…Red Octane’s Guitar Hero: World Tour instruments worked like a charm, save for their own peculiarities and the fact that the drum kit is different than Rock Band’s. The Guitar Hero kit has one extra orange pad, of course, so that one is ignored here. Drumming feels a little awkward on these peripherals simply because the pads are arranged differently, but once your mind has made the adjustment it won’t be a problem…

IGN goes on to confirm online play, DLC, and more. Expect to pick up Rock Band 2 for Wii on December 22.

I know I will be picking up just the disk…anyone with me?

gh4

Though Activision has stated many times that the Wii version of GH4 would support downloadable content we were still unsure of how they were going to go about gobbling up our money. Obviously the above box art revealed today at GC Leipzig confirms that Activision will be accepting Wii point payment via Nintendo’s ‘Pay & Play’ program.

Guitar Hero: World Tour is just a few months away! Who’s excited?

GH3 freeplate

Infendo reader, Brysson found a surprise on his doorstep today, a free Guitar Hero faceplate. It appears Activision is giving out free faceplates to customers that had their disks replaced due to the mono sound issue. It’s been a while since we’ve seen some good’ol customer service from a company besides Nintendo. Lets just hope they have enough to pass around.

Thanks, Brysson!

Activision has announced Guitar Hero: Aerosmith for Wii. The game will feature Aerosmith’s greatest hits, as well as songs from celebrated artists that the band has either performed with or has been inspired by in some way. The title will be made available this June. Gamers will experience Aerosmith’s career, from their first gig to becoming rock royalty.  No word yet on whether the game will be bundled with a guitar or will be sold as a standalone addition to the series.

Anyone feeling any sweet emotions about this announcement?
