The last time a critically-acclaimed DS game (Scribblenauts) jumped to iPhone, it was a kick in the gut for Nintendo fans, because the 3DS library wasn’t exactly stellar at the time.

This time around, things are rosier. Not only is 3DS picking up steam with terrific cartridge games, but the fledgling eShop has been delivering gem after gem in recent weeks. Today, the well-reviewed and great-looking Sakura Samurai arrives for 3DS download, and that takes most of the sting out of the North American iPhone debut of Capcom’s Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective. Holy crap, I almost forgot to tell everyone that Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded came out today! Both games have a lot of positive buzz going for them, they’re both on the DS, and they both feature fabulous colons in their titles. Over on Wii, you’ll need to hit up the Wii Shop Channel if you want any new games.

Anyone check out either game? Blake seems to <3 Ghost Trick a little bit.

Ghost Trick Developer Interview by Nobuooo

Ghost Trick is a game about a man named Sissel. He has the unique power of rewinding time 4 minutes before someone dies. However, he himself ended up dead, and his power doesn’t work on himself.

Ghost Trick is a very stylized puzzle game that takes a simple element of interacting with inanimate objects and adds a very interesting spin of using them to interact with others. Of course, since you are a ghost possessing objects, you can only startle or shock them into acting the way you want them too.

Now it is up to you to solve the mystery surrounding your own death while protecting other people who are being targeted by a dark mysterious assassin. However, there is a problem, you only have until dawn to do that, as it is a race against time. A very unique and interesting game.

Capcom has just released a new trailer for Ghost Trick. A game that revolves around a man named Sissel who is actually dead. He has no memories of who he was or why he was killed, but as a ghost he has the desire to protect others from suffering the same fate as him. He is taught by a possessed lamp how to perform Ghost Tricks, but is also informed that once dawn comes, his soul will disappear forever.

With one night to unravel the mystery of his death, and the desire to protect those around him. Will he succeed or will he fail. Sounds like Capcom has created another interesting title for our lovable handheld. Anyone excited for this one?
