Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon will be coming to the DS on February 16th.

As reported yesterday by IGN, the latest issue of Famitsu has revealed first details on Fire Emblem DS.

In an exciting first for the esteemed series, Fire Emblem DS will utilize the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection for online multiplayer. Players will assemble teams using units they have built up in the game’s single player mode.

As previously reported, Fire Emblem DS is not an all-new entry in the series. Rather, it is an upgraded remake of the original Fire Emblem released for the Famicom in 1990.

Developed by Nintendo’s accomplished Intelligent Systems studio, the same team responsible for the original version, Fire Emblem will bring online portable conquest to Japanese DS owners Aug. 7.
