Yippee! Starting Thursday, Nintendo will begin offering free downloadable demos for 3DS, reports USA Today.

The first demos to appear on the eShop will include Resident Evil: Revelations, Mario & Sonic at the London Olympics, Rayman Origins and Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D.

Free gameplay is always a good thing, however limited. What do you think of the news?

Great news: Nintendo to offer demos on select WiiWare games starting next week

Want to sample WiiWare games before deciding which one best suits your tastes? Starting next week, you can.

“The initial lineup of demos available on Nov. 22 includes BIT.TRIP FATE, And Yet It Moves, ThruSpace and Jett Rocket,” Nintendo said in a  statement today. “Additional demos will be added on Mondays and each will remain available on the Wii Shop Channel for a limited time.”

Although demos have existed on PC for over a decade, and HD consoles for five years now, it’s never too late to start offering free trials. The only thing that would have made this better would have been demos for every WiiWare and Virtual Console game indefinitely.
