Fresh from the San Diego Comic-Con comes the first English trailer for Tales of the Abyss 3D. The game seems to be fairly unchanged from the PS2 original aside from the new features exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS such as assignable touch screen artes selection and new 3D animations for mystic artes.

If you have already experienced the PS2 title, the redone skits may be enough to constitute a re-purchase. Tales of the Abyss is one of my favorite JRPGs due to the story and great pacing, so replaying the game on the go should be fantastic.

I have always felt that portables are the perfect systems to play RPGs, so I will gobble up this title up when it releases later this year.  Head past the break if you’re interested in English screenshots of the game.

Nintendo has made a splash at the San Diego Comic-Con with the first publicly playable build of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Not fortunate enough to make it to San Diego this week? No problem, Nintendo has you covered with a new game trailer.

There are a few things from the trailer that stood out to me. First, I absolutely love the new impressionist art direction Skyward Sword has taken.  To me, seems to be a compromise between the cel-shading of Wind Waker and the more realistic design of Twilight Princess.

Did you notice how Princess Zelda fell into the mouth of what looks to be a giant fish? Could it be the Wind Fish, which was the main focus of the Link’s Awakening storyline? Seems plausible considering Link’s Awakening was recently released on the eShop.

From what I played at E3, Skyward Sword is easily my most anticipated title to be released this year. All the Wii naysayers will have a hard time discounting Skyward Sword once it hits this holiday, and I have a feeling Wiimotes around the world will be dusted off when the title is finally available.

Side note: I really want a plush of that penguin-squirrel creature, someone make it happen!
