Brian Brinegar, one of the men behind the legendary gaming marathon, Mario Marathon, has put up a easy instructable on how to build a few gaming props. Not just any props, but Mario power ups.

Brian contacted me about a week ago to share some info on the cosplay ready FLUDD, and the awesome Propeller Helmet. Saying that “They loved the costumes, so we thought we’d do something a little special.”

For anyone who doesn’t know about Mario Marathon or the people who run it. It’s a nonstop, endurance run of playing Mario Games. Playing both night and day, nonstop, for as long as it takes to beat all the main games in the series.

Last year they raised about $29,000 dollars for Child’s Play charity. They have high hopes that they are going to top it.

Infendo-friendo’s Shinoji, Abysmal and friends, from the infendo forums, are throwing another game marathon to raise money for child’s play charity. They are planning to play games for more than 9 days in an attempt to beat their last marathon; playing games that range from the original Nintendo all the way up to the current generation.

Greetings fellow Infendoians!

The same people from the Infendo Forums who brought you the March Break gaming marathon is back to marathon again! They will be doing the same format as before, on a live web stream showing the game and the players themselves. As they play their list of games in order, we encourage viewers to donate money to raise funds towards a meaningful cause, Child’s Play. Last Marathon they raised approximately 440.00 dollars last time. The donations will be in paypal format, as we transfer the funds directly to the charity itself.

This weekend was the second Mario Marathon, that was put on to raise awareness for Penny Arcades child’s play charity. During the even they managed to raised almost 30,000 dollars, which almost made them a triple platinum sponsor. To a lot of us 10,000 dollars is a lot of money, but to raise almost 30,000 is amazing. So I asked them how they felt about what they had done and about the amount they raised.

Last year these guys managed to raise an amazing amount of money for child’s play. All they did was just by play all the original console “Super Mario” games. They did this to raise money for Child’s Play, the charity that gives the gift of games to sick children in hospitals all over the world. This year, the Mario Marathon guys are at it again, now with better equipment and decals on the walls.

As of right now they have beat last years amount of 11,767 dollars with 21,264.06 dollars, and they are currently playing through Super Mario Galaxy. You can view the marathon after the jump or visit their official site here!
