What? An adult liking Mario? This messes up my worldview! Nintendo games can’t be enjoyed by adults, because that are kid- because they are casual! How can adults like games rated E more than games rated M, which are directed targeted at them?

Uh, he never actually came out and said he liked Mario. At the end, he didn’t even reference Nintendo by name… just said La Bamba should sue “the people who make Mario”. Any true Mario fan knows what Nintendo is.

I loved it, saw it last night, and seeing it again made me laugh harder. I love Conan.

You don’t have to have an encyclopedic knowledge of something to be a fan of it. You yourself probably didn’t even know Nintendo made Mario Bros. when they first came out with it.

The best part is how the whole audience seemed to react. I think it’s pretty safe to say that almost everyone recognizes Mario. What other video game can claim as many fans. Games like God of War, GTA, Halo, etc… might have their time in the sun, and their share of fanboys, but nothing is as well known and as well loved as is Mario.

I think I can also say that I’ve already enjoyed the Tonight Show with Conan more than I did of 17 years of Leno

    The video is down.

I thought that was pretty funny. I think it’s pretty cool that a primetime show is making gaming jokes. This is proof that Nintendo games are mainstream?

I don’t understand why NBC would pull this clip down… it’s a good way to promote their show. Well here’s the link on NBC’s officially sanctioned video site… Hulu.

    @ Craig:

Because NBC is paranoid about copyright.

I saw that bit and still have it on my pvr. It was truly laugh out loud funny and the audience LOVED it. I think it got his loudest reaction of the night.
