Square Enix creates DS wine guide

Yahoo! News hits us with details of a Square Enix developed wine guide.
“Beginners Wine DS” for Nintendo’s DS handheld device features step-by-step instructions on choosing a bottle for a romantic dinner or correctly swirling a glass when wine tasting.
The software will be available in Japan on November 15th. No word yet on other territories getting the grape-stained title. Also no word on whether or not there will be a taste-off boss battle with Sephiroth.
Any wine enthusiasts in Infendo Nation?

I would probably pick this up if it were in english. Im pretty ignorant when it comes to wine. It would be nice to be able to contribute to conversations about wine tasting instead of standing there like a dolt.

Actually the boss battle would be with Ganoncork. You would probably have to defeat him with the CorkScrewAttack power up.

I wonder what this game will be rated… Does the ESRB take drugs into consideration when rating a title?

The ESRB does take drugs into consideration, but it has a separate rating for alcohol, tobacco and drugs. This “game” will probably still get an E rating, if not then the ESRB has gone mad (wait a minute; haven’t they already gone mad? Whatever, they’ll have gone more mad)

I don’t drink a lot of Wine. The occasional glass here, and there.
I do like European Beer, if I drink at all.
I don’t see ANY benefit of having this for the DS. Why not just Google the subject, print it out, and learn it for free.

Wine? lol the only wine I need are in this order vodka martinis, absinthe shots, tequila El Jimador, sangritas and finish with room-temperature “Adios Mutherfuckers” with glowing icecubes. wine drinkers are pompous assholes that can’t get women unless they impress them with their “world travels” that they watch on E!’s Wild On.

Hmm, I think a whine guide might be more entertaining. They could list all the current whiners in the video game world.
Number 1 would be sony whining about the lack of PS3 Sales.
Number 2 could be XBox 360 owners whining about the red light of death.
Number 3 could be Wii players whining about the lack of on-line games.
Number 4 could be all the video games magazines whining about the so-called death of the hard core genre at the hands of the Wii
Etc…
It would surely be more interesting than a program about wine tasting. Besides, I find it difficult to imagine a wine conosoiure (sp) asking his friends to wait a second while he whips out his DS, pops in his Wine program, and proceedes to wax eloquent about the pros and cons of a certain vintage according to the big N.

I’d use this!
But, I just have the feeling that if they try to localize it to the U.S., Jack Thompson is going to have a field day and block it from the Western World. (You know, underage drinking and all…)
