Meet the new Brawl challengers - Part 1 - a Pokemon surprise
Monday, February 4th, 2008 at 10:00am by David[There are 15 new challengers in Super Smash Bros Brawl. This series will feature each new contender and rank them on their fighting potential with the Infendo Smash-O-Meter! Spoilers are present, so be careful if you wish to remain unspoilt.]
Lucario
This fighting-style Pokemon made its debut in the movie Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. It is considered a fourth generation Pokemon, appearing in the Diamond and Pearl editions of the game.
Game Appearances:
Pokemon Diamond / Pearl
Lucario may be a strong contender in the world of Pokemon, but it will need to show some real flexibility to take on the great roster of characters in Brawl.

Based on potential to win the brawl, how would you rank Lucario?

You might want to mark this as a spoiler. There might be people who are still trying to not view any spoilers (as hard as that might be).

Good thinking, cdub. I changed it for those who wish to miss it.

I think even the 15 new challengers is spoilerific for some.

The idea behind this is basically the same as the “official” tiers, but you’re not really basing it off anything. As far as I can tell from videos Lucario looks a bit like a Mewtwo clone, although it looks like he’s better to control overall. I have no idea if any tiers are being proposed for Brawl, so I’d have to check out smashboards before saying anything more.

Actually I didn’t want to know how many new challengers there were in Brawl until I unlocked them myself… Thanks, Infendo.

Oh stop whining. This isn’t the latest Final Fantasy game, it’s a fucking fighting game. People didn’t say jack when the secret characters for Soul Caliber 4 were announced, because the 2 characters aren’t important enough to the story to regard as spoilers. I can see from a certain perspective wanting to discover them yourself, but complaining about a number is ridiculous. Besides, what did you think was going to happen when the game comes out a full month ahead of the NA release? If you wanted to avoid “spoilers” you should have known better and just avoided the internet.

This may be my least favorite new character to SSB. I like Pokemon as much as the next, but who cares about this dude?
