Infendo and pretty much the entire Internet exploded with information and discussion about the new Smash Bros Brawl game.  It’s out in Japan this week and in North America in five weeks.  Some folks devour and search out every bit of information the can while others don’t want to see anything that isn’t on their own personal TV.  Where do you stand on this issue?

Chalk up another vote for “I don’t care”.

Smash Bros Melee will be a great game, and definitely worth buying for the Wii… But it will be great because of fun and hectic gameplay, not because of a carefully constructed narrative. Unlike BioShock or Assassin’s Creed, games that rely on story to push the action forward, there aren’t any spoilers that can detract from my enjoyment of Brawl.

Also, I don’t give two twigs about the game until it actually comes out.

Ahem, I meant to say “Brawl” up above… not “Melee”. My bad.

  3. Jack says...

    ejamer FAIL.

    Just kidding.

But seriously, folks, this is all about the game play and competition. The characters are but cogs in the wheel.

I said yes in that, I tried, and failed. it’s everywhere, every gaming site out there has it plastered all over the place. I’d rather have waited to unlock everything myself… but ah well, I guess smash bros is one of them games that you can’t really spoil by knowing too much, the only thing it spoils is the initial suprise value.

  5. Roddy says...

I’m not avoiding them simply because I don’t consider them spoilers. Why would knowing all characters before hand hurt my enjoyment of the game?

  6. InvisibleMan says...

Yes, I’ve been avoiding them, but only because I don’t care THAT much… I do care a little, but I’m afraid that seeing all the screens and previews of the movies will spoil the only enjoyment I’ll get from the game: the surprises!

    “ejamer FAIL”

Oh well. At least it wasn’t epic fail this time.
    ;)

I was waiting for the full character list, so no, I’m not avoiding them. I’d rather know how to unlock the ’secret’ characters and stages anyway so I can get them ASAP.

As you can tell from one of my unlogical posts in the screen select post, I am avoiding spoilers as much as I can. At least Travis and the Metal Slug crew (Just picked up Metal Slug Anthology’s) are going to keep me preoccupied through the next month.

XD nah, I been watching all the videos on youtube, it has been too long the wait for the game for not watching nothing. Don’t care if I spoiled myself, I wanna to know everything even if the game sells in 5 weeks .

  11. KillerHeroes says...

    Don’t care.

  12. cdub says...

I tried to avoid but I had to look at the characters. I don’t consider it to much of a spoiler. I’m not going to look at anything else though.

  13. DocOctorok says...

I don’t mind the spoilers at all. I’d avoid finding out the endings of plot-heavy games (BioShock, etc) but I don’t really care if I know all the characters or not beforehand. That’s not what’s important.

  14. Soup says...

    I got a fever!

And the prescription is more screenshots!

    Christopher Walken CONFIRMED

  15. Liraco says...

I’m only looking toa void spoilers in 2 areas, 1 in the story and videos for subspace emissary (stopped with the diddy kong video and have seen no more) and the other is the full character roster.

I want to try and be at least partially surprised by some hidden character I unlock (unless a friend or relative ruins it and I’ll have to SMASH their heads in).

  16. Platinum says...

Some are ok, but i don’t want ending stuff.

  17. Dragonah says...

I voted yes, before it was a no, but that was because the dojo was only showing stuff that i wouldnt have to unlock, now that they’ve shifted gears and are in spoiler mode, i’m actually staying away from the dojo until after ive played the game enough.

As for not seeing stuff on the rest of the internet, i really only read infendo and game|life, so i can cope, but a small suggestion, why not do what you did with the roster post and conceal anything majorly spoilerific after the “continue reading…” link? That way you keep bot the yes’s and the no’s happy around here.
