Gameboy- Tetris

Tetris and the original Gameboy were one in the same for many people when Nintendo’s grey brick of a handheld was released in 1989. Tetris was a pack-in title for Gameboy, and many people bought a Gameboy just for Tetris (sound familiar?). While versions of Tetris have been released for every console, cell phone, and microwave under the sun, the Gameboy version has gone on to sell over 35 million copies easily making it the best selling version of the title.
Gameboy Color- Shantae

Shantae for Gameboy Color was a hidden gem for the console that has developed a cult following. Developed by WayForward Technologies, Shantae has a very Metroidvania feel to it. If you have yet to play Shantae, track a copy of the original down on ebay, or download the DSiWare title Shantae: Risky’s Revenge on your 3DS or DSi…you won’t be disappointed.

Gameboy Advance- Golden Sun

Golden Sun is easily one of my favorite games of all time. From the music to the gameplay, Golden Sun has it all. Camelot really hit a homerun with the Golden Sun franchise, and after playing Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, I can’t wait for a sequel!

Nintendo DS- Kirby Canvas Curse

In my opinion, Kirby Canvas Curse was the first title that properly took advantage of the unique features of the Nintendo DS. Kirby has had a track record lately of deviating from the gameplay of the original, and Kirby Canvas Curse was no exception. I would love to see a sequel to the title for 3DS as Canvas Curse was one of the most original titles available on the DS platform.

Nintendo 3DS- Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D

Ocarina of Time needs no introduction as it is one of the finest games to ever be developed for any platform. The soundtrack for each and every area is so fantastic that I can still remember every song in the game. If you have a 3DS and $40 dollars to spare, go pick up a copy for yourself, NOW!
