Nintendo Direct: Your Feedback?

I have to admit, I missed last night’s Nintendo Direct Conference.  Maybe it is because I was up at around 6:30 in the morning, or that I had to get up at 6:30 again this morning, or it might have been the horrible headache that I had.  Whatever the “excuse”, I don’t feel like I missed much.

I do like the announcement of the 3DS XL, but I doubt I will purchase one because my aqua blue 3DS suits me just fine.  Not to mention that the device will not include a power cord!  Maybe the exclusion helps to keep the price at the $200.00 mark, but for a first time 3DS buyer, I would be upset if I had to spend an extra $20-$30 (I am guessing) for a charger.  Sure, you can use the charger from your 3DS…if you have a 3ds.

I am happy to see Kirby’s Dream Collection as well as games such as Zelda, Sonic, and Kid Icarus as part of the 8 bit Summer.  But an announcement of classics seems so “blah”.  I would much rather see a remake of the game with new graphics and possible side quests than a simple port of the exact same games.

Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle trailer was a breath of fresh air, but a new Pokemon Black Version 2 trailer, as well as another look at New Super Mario Bros. 2 just seem like they were filling some time to extend the conference.

Overall, I feel as though i did not miss much while I was in dreamland.  What are your reactions to the conference?  Was it worth staying up for, at least for those of us on the East coast, or would a few extra ZZZZ’s have been a better use of your time?
