Next Zelda playable at E3, Motion Plus only

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010 at 3:44pm by Boss Hog

Nintendo hope to have the next Zelda game playable on Wii this summer, according to the independent Andria Sang. “I’d like to show something playable,” producer Aonuma purportedly told Japanese game rag Famitsu. “Aonuma also hinted that the game could reach the masses before the end of the year,” reports Sang. Furthermore, “Aonuma told Famitsu that the game will be Wii Motion Plus exclusive.” Add ‘em to the list of what we know!

I really can’t wait to see this game in action, But I really am gonna have to hold off from researching it like I have done in the past with Zelda games, so many times have I ruined the experience for myself by watching cut-scenes from the game on youtube from the NA release, weeks before the EU release…

if only i wasn’t sick when i read this, i would probably be jumping on the walls

Nice!!! This is such a classic game, I’ve played it in my childhood days and love to see it still around and being developed on.

motion plus only says to me “forced to buy more hardware”

like the extra ram for the n64. which they totally anticipated, given how it was built.

yes it’s an improvement and is worth it. but that’s little excuse for nickle and diming us.

  5. Fabio says...

@deepthought: exactly. Plus the extra downloadable content that they will charge us for… no wait, wrong system. This only happens on the other 2.

LOL deepthought fails at concern-trolling. Wonder if he has similar complaints about being charged to play online, considering it’s free on Wii, PC, and PS3 while Ms has the gall to ask $50 a year.

Or if he anticipates Natal or Sony Wand at all. I mean, nickel and diming, right? that’s bad, right?

I’m sure this will be an awesome game… but somehow I’m not excited at all. (Maybe still not having played Twilight Princess has something to do with that, or knowing that the game will probably be way longer than my attention span.)

i almost put in a comment on how i hate that now you have to buy the rest of the game after you buy the game- but this article was about zelda, not the 360. and i def agree that the live model is annoying. (anyone else remember the idiotic shortlived experiment of charging for windows games online like the live model? pc gamers knew better than to pay for what had always been free.)

geeze you guys get worked up fast. this was the first thing that came to mind. and i said it was worth it. so youre upset about… um…. “concern trolling”?

i like how the reaction is to say “yeah well it’s still better than the ps60!” i believe it’s actually possible to critisize the wii and still like it. or ciritsize the 360 and still like it. whichever. not everything needs to devolve into a my-console-is-better-than conversation.

honestly, i think i understand why any comment about the wii is checked for fairness in view towards other consoles. and as usual, i think it’s quite an immature instinct, even if this site sometimes cultivates it.

see- my sense of myself isn’t wrapped up in which console i play or own or like the most. “you’re not your F* khakis.”

criticisms of the wii are just that: criticisms of the wii. they are not criticisms of you.

let me demonstrate: i <3 perfect dark 64. the ram was totally worth it. but i still thought it was a scam.

that was too long. let me summarize.

i made a comment about the article. the response is “youre not allowed to say that unless you also critisize the ps60.”

    wtf mate?

I tend to side with deepthought on this one. Requiring MotionPlus only works for me if (a) it REALLY adds to the game, and (b) there is going to be significantly more support for the accessory in the future.

So far, Nintendo has failed to support most of their peripherals enough to justify their purchase (not an uncommon move for them). MotionPlus might get a pass from me because Tiger Woods 10 is amazing… but until finding out if Zelda justifies it’s use, this still feels like a bit of a cash grab by Nintendo.

i don’t mind buying the motion plus for games that i want. especially if it enhances the experience, but i don’t like being forced to buy it before i have any compatible games for it (i’ve vented in other posts about this). i do like the fact that they are actually developing software for it, but let me buy it seperately and when needed. until all games require the motion plus it is a bit of a scam :)
