New Game Get rises from the grave with Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Dead Space Extraction, Arkanoid Plus, and Altered Beast

AlteredBeast

This week’s big releases are Dead Space Extraction and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. I have to speak up and say that the inclusion of The Faint’s “The Geeks Were Right” on Guitar Hero 5 has made me VERY happy; their album Fasciinatiion was my favorite of 2008. Arkanoid Plus is a new WiiWare title that I will definitely get and it might be hard to pass up the arcade version of the Genesis classic, Altered Beast!

  1. Paolo says:

My two picks: Dead Space Extraction (I tried it… It’s a blast) and KH 358/2 Days!!!

  2. deepthought says:

I’m generally not excited about on rails shooters, but extraction is getting some good marks and sounds like an excellent party game…

  3. King_Salamon says:

Dragon Quest Wars for the DSi! I’ll snap that up tonight for sure! I love the Dragon Quest games and a simple strategy game for the DSi will be awesome for when I take a break from Dragon Quest IV and V. 🙂

What a wonderful surprise! I didn’t expect to see a NA release for this title!

  4. I’m confused… why is Altered Beast listed as today’s Wii VC title? That was one of the first games out on VC… it was available on system launch. I’ve had it for over 2 years.

  5. Roddy says:

I wanna get Altered Beast for the kid, but the stupid Internet Channel is denying my stupid credit card number…

  6. gojiguy says:

I played the arcade version of Altered Beast as a kid. I lost too many quarters on that machine to pass up this offer.

    Sold.

    WISE FWOM YOU GWAVE!

  7. Inuyasha572 says:

    Love me some Kingdom Hearts!!!!

  8. Ah, thanks David. That makes a bit more sense now. It still begs the question, though, why do we need multiple versions of games on the VC? There are hundreds of good games that deserve a release; I’d rather see those than a second version of an already released game (Sonic has two versions as well, not sure if there are others).

  9. Joshdad says:

Arkanoid Plus, Drift Mania and Dragon Quest Wars will all probably find a home with me pretty soon.

Kingdom Hearts is also a possibility.

    Not a bad week.

  10. Brian says:

I’m gonna go for that The Wizard of Oz RPG.

  11. gojiguy says:

I understand where you’re coming from , Instant-awesome, but i want the “real” version of a classic I played as a kid as well.

I just wish Nintendo would go back to 3-4 releases a week.
