A post over at MyGamerCard did more than reveal the Xbox 360 Achievements for upcoming Rockman title Mega Man 9, it also revealed all the Boss Robots. This here image is a ‘shop job from WiiFanboy. Puts them in perspective pretty nicely.

splash woman sounds weird. well not that the others are normal.

  2. RoyalRook says:

ahahaha splash woman, I would hit that with my canon with great vengeance. Too bad, I won’t spent any money on this kinda lazy @ss brainfart from Capcom. I have played the X series, and loving them, thank you very much.

  3. What is the phone number for the hotline? I’ll need to call to find out the order in which I should beat the bosses. :-)

And Royal Rook, I’d hardly call this game a lazy @ss brainfart. A quick cash-in? Maybe. Fan service? Definitely. But from what I’ve seen and heard, it looks like it’s gonna be top quality.

There’s nothing in Capcom’s public remarks about this game that indicate they “phoned in” development. All the previous software from the NES era was lost or unusable, and they basically made this game from scratch. In fact, early versions of the game were reworked at the request of Inafune because they were trying too hard with the graphics and not focusing on game play and feel.

Those of you who say it doesn’t take as much effort to make a game like this because “it’s just 8-bit” are missing the point entirely. It takes skill and effort to make a great game, and from all the previews I’ve read thus far, this is a great game.

It’s also a full-fledged Mega Man game with extras for $10. How is that a cash in, especially since Nintendo takes their WiiWare % off the top?

  5. TBlack says:

The X series was made for emo anime nerds.

  6. Jack, I was not implying that not a lot of effort was put into this game. In fact, I was trying to imply the opposite (I said I think it will be top-quality). Having dabbled in game development myself, I know how tough it is to make a functional game, let alone a AAA title.

As for my “cash-in” statement, I merely meant that this game will sell extremely well. Hearing the internet-based outcry of hardcore gamers that wanted something with a classic feel must have set all kinds of alarms off in Capcom’s collective mind. I have to assume that the development costs are relatively low, and porting between platforms was almost definitely a cinch. I know that Nintendo skims off the top, but to think that this will not be profitable for Capcom would be silly.
When I said that it would be a “quick cash-in”, I was speaking from a businessman’s perspective. If I had to pull the trigger on this deal, I’d do it in a second.

Point taken IA. I think I need to take a break from mega Man posts. I’m too invested and I’m afraid the title won’t live up to my unfairly inflated expectations.

Who am I kidding. Yes it will.

  8. Richter says:

Plug Man? Really? What’s he going to do, plug an American 120 volt plug into a European 220 volt outlet while I’m standing nearby?

  9. Run line 10 says:

There you go Jack. If you go off what you want it to be then there is now way your enjoying it. I’ve played all these games and I expect a mega man game after mega man 2.

The galaxy man is trippy though LOL. This should be fun hands down.

  10. Andrew G. says:

This isn’t the most attractive gaggle of Robot Masters ever seen in a Mega Man game, but I’m still extremely psyched for it. Plus, I’ll probably like them better when I see them in color.

It’s great that there’s a female boss, too. That’s long overdue.

  11. Mattiac says:

Well, I think that JewelMan should be replaced with SoundMan. SPOILER UP AHEAD: And the “Dr. W” in the middle should be “Dr. L” because of the game’s story. I like it that they have a female boss even though she should look more like a robot. But she still gives me wet dreams. :P HornetMan is cool and they don’t think they need TornadoMan because both their stages could be about flying. GalaxyMan is really Mario in disguise. Ooops! Big spoiler there! ;P Did they have a contest in Japan before they made the bosses for Mega Man 9? I think that they should have a world wide contest! I would so enter! I can’t draw but a friend is excellent so he would draw my idea. I’m gonna buy this game as soon as it comes out even though I fear that it will be too hard for me to complete it and save the day. PlugMan is like a copy of ElecMan. I would have replaced MagmaMan with CelciusMan because then you could have a stage that has both cold and warmth. And Celcius because it’s named after the Swedish guy Anders Celcius and I’m Swedish like he was. :) I think it’s too bad that they removed the glide ability and the mega buster. :( I’m still sure that the game is very good.

  12. Mattiac says:

    @Richter: LOL :D I wonder that too.

  13. kataztrophy says:

    Galaxy Man’s upper lip…Must…Destroy….

  14. Jack says:

@andrew g.: Hey, I’m agreeing with you! I think Tornado Man, especially, is a bit too much like Mega Man 2′s Air Man. He even shoots tornadoes!

Regardless, this is a day one download for me.

If this comes out for DS I’m going to be extremely happy.
