Nintendo will soon relabel Super Paper Mario, Super Mario Galaxy, Punch-Out, and Mario Strikers Charged as $20 “select” games, says the rumor mill. In case you missed one of the 4-star plus rated games, you’re Wii will thank you for jumping.

The original four Select games were Mario Super Sluggers, Wii Sports (replaced by Mario Kart Wii as the Wii’s bundled game), The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and Animal Crossing: City Folk.

Will one of those make you fire up your Wii again, assuming it was dormant? If so, what game you gonna get?

Played ‘em all, loved ‘em all–especially Punch-out!

I absolutely LOVE Punch-Out!! At $20, the price is perfect. I personally have all of the games except Mario Strikers Charged, which I will definitely be picking up now. :)

  3. NZA36 says:

    I may get punch out.

  4. Blake says:

Mario Strikers Charged is gold, I tell you. And you don’t have to enjoy soccer to like it.

I picked up Super Paper Mario used from Amazon warehouse deals a few weeks ago for $22. It was in excellent condition and the code for club Nintendo hadn’t been used yet. The price for this game, even used, is crazy, generally around $40, so the $20 release should take care of the overpriced used copies. All of the games on this list are a great deal for $20.

Bought Galaxy (waste!) but have not tried the other three. I am interested in Paper MArio. Don’t know if I will ever try the others.

  7. Jibaro009 says:

I’ll grab Paper Mario and punch out.

  8. Mohan says:

Now I am going to be getting Punch Out! :D

Went and bought sluggers, now my wii is making a weird noise when the disk spins. Looks like it may be retiring early if I can’t get it fixed cheap/free.

I spent $200 on these four games and would do so again. $80 for all four is a steal.

of these, the only one I have is Punch out. I love it, and love the series, one of the best on Nintendo systems!
I’m really excited to give galaxy a shot, obviously the series is very popular and well regarded. I have never really liked 3d platformers as much as the 2d ones, mainly because it always feels a bit awkward to control them. However, I have heard that the controls are really tight in the galaxy series, so maybe I will be turned around in my thinking.

with more titles coming to a value price, I bet we see a lot more people with platinum status over at club Nintendo!

I’ll definitely pick up Super Paper Mario. Played it on a friend’s system during launch and have been digging into discount bins the last two tears hopingto randomly find it for 19 bucks or less. Love the game, and want to play it again to 100%

Maybe PunchOut (suck at the original) and I think id get Kart if it was sold individually for 20 bucks.

I still think Nintendo should Promote some great 3rd party games by buying them an re-branding them as Nintendo Wii Selects for $20 (even though many can be found for less now) to give ‘em that late-life Nintendo-bump.

I’ll be grabbing Mario Galaxy and Paper Mario.

I have waited for a Super Paper Mario price drop for soooo loooong :D

  15. Nin3DS says:

They’re all good games, so it’s a good decision by Nintendo if true.

  16. EdEN says:

Played and finished all of them except for Charged. Wonder how much sales will go up for these games and if we’ll see them back in the top 20.
