E3 WiiWare – A Collection of Good Titles

Military Madness is sci-fi-themed, hex map turn-based strategy game for the TurboGrafx-16. The first game in the Nectaris series, it was developed by Hudson Soft.

Military Madness is a turn-based strategy game that takes place on the moon in 2089, with the player controlling the Allied-Union forces against the Axis-Xenon forces. Units cannot be produced, but the Allied-Union forces could “capture” enemy units if they were in factories, or find unsecured factories and gain units from them. Units could also be repaired by returning them to factories under Allied-Union control.

The one problem with this game when I was demoing it was that it did not make use of the Wii Mote IR sensor, and was primarily D-Pad and button pushing. For an Real Time Strategy game the decision to not use the infra-red pointer was kind of purplexing. It’s an interesting game though, so I suggest everyone to check it out.
