SEGA’s Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood (DS) screenshots look sharp

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008 at 11:44am by Jack

Sonic Chronicles: The Dark BrotherhoodSEGA has posted a few screenshots of Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood (DS) today (via Videogamer), so I thought I’d share them with you.

Question for the day is: Has Sonic re-found his footing with a DS RPG title?

And yes, I’m well aware of my previous comments regarding looks. Truth is, I’m very shallow.

[Thanks, Will!]

I want to see footage of battles. That’ll decide whether I become interested or not.

You can… In related news IT WILL NEVER BE BETTER THEN SONIC BATTLE!

I think an RPG is just not right for sonic, I mean, sonic is about fast action and collecting rings and fighting bad guys. Sonic should return to his roots.

Wasn’t that how most people felt when Mario RPG was being made?
However, it actually turned out really good.

Bioware is good at making RPGs, So I think they will make a mighty fine DS game with sonic.

I’ve never really been into Sonic, but since Bioware is making this I might just pick it up.

Easy answer: SONIC NEVER LOST HIS FOOTING.

Not so sure about that, Poochy. I’m a pretty big fan of the blue blur, but I dunno, he’s been kinda weak lately. I have seen then following a bit of a Mario-ish trend, I saw something about “SEGA Superstar Tennis”, with a lot of characters from Sega, including Sonic. Losing his footing?… He didn’t fall, but he stumbled. We’ll see how it plays out I guess.

If anyone could do it it’s Bioware. The simularities to the situation with Super Mario RPG are more than slight, Bioware has a similar level of cred to what Square did back in the day.
