So this must be the third or fourth time MiniCopter for Wii has been pushed back. Hopefully it’ll drop this week. Same goes for Plushee’s! At least there’s Baroque, right?

Wii
Baroque
MiniCopter: Adventure Flight
Summer Sports: Paradise Island

DS
Fab 5 Soccer
Plushees

What’s your pick this week?

I wonder how Baroque is handling up critically. It looks like quite an interesting title.

I don’t know if this is asking to much, but could maybe also do a new game get for the EU? Pwetty pweese :)

I heard Baroque sucked (according to Nintendo Power)
    But i don’t know

will preface this with saying i like these kind of games. graphics and story dont bother me. and i prefer slow gameplay as i have poor reflexes and unstable hands.

well, baroque is good if you like dungeon crawlers and stuff probably phantasy star online style, but its niche, so expect scores all over the place.

if you already know you like the genre, no review should sway you, unless you agree with the text, which is all legitiamete in nintendo powers case, as far as that reviewers liking goes.

PSO has fairly slow combat also, but i liked it, baroque is using ps2 graphics and drab environments unlike PSOs graphics which were brighter and each area a different style completely.

bad localisation is bad, period. especially if it didnt make them laugh enough, lol.

really, they use the whole scale for their reviews and every review depends on what kind of games the reviewer likes, the hate people give nintendo power is childish and ignorant.

    My pick is FFTA2.

What’s that? It doesn’t come out this week? Screw this then, I’m playing GHIII!

Meh pretty bring week unless you’re into dungeon crawlers. I just ordered the arknoid ds bundle so I’ll be busy justifying the $60 to myself.

i’m getting Baroque for sure. I am a butt slave for ATLUS. They haven’t let me down yet!

    Another ATLUS slave here…

I’ve been especially enthused about Baroque because not only is it published by Atlus, St!ng is the developer, and they have created under Atlus the most gorgeous GBA games I’ve ever seen, Riviera and Yggdra Union! I think this is their first foray into 3D.

I did read the review on Nintendo Power with their incredibly low score of 3/10! One thing I found unfair about the score, is that the critic didn’t quite explain himself why he gave such a low score. And the thing that made me really suspicious of this critic is that he mentions as one of the low points of the game that the combat slows down to the point that it is almost turn-based… Excuse me?? Has he ever played an RPG?? Except for Mass Effect (which in my opinion stretches the definition of “RPG”), all RPGs are typically turn-based to different degrees… why didn’t he expect that?

Sorry for ranting (hey, what are blog comments for, anyway?), but it is frustrating that now I have to wait for more reviews to see if Nintendo Power’s score is justified or not, instead of the magazine itself just telling me for real why the game supposedly sucks…
