GameDaily posted their list of the Top 10 Best Games for the Rest of 2007. Nintendo will see 60% of these games on Wii and DS. Could it be a more exciting time to own a Nintendo system? Here’s a run-down of the Top Ten.
10. Rock Band [360 & PS3]
9. Metroid Prime 3 [Wii]
8. Call Of Duty 4 [360 & PS3]
7. Legend Of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass [DS]
6. Guitar Hero III [Wii, 360, & PS3]
5. Grand Theft Auto IV [360 & PS3]
4. Madden NFL 08 [All systems]
3. Halo 3 [360]
2. Super Smash Bros. Brawl [Wii]
1. Super Mario Galaxy [Wii]
So just to do a little numbers dance…
Number of games for Nintendo systems: 6
Number of titles exclusive to Nintendo systems: 4
Number of titles exclusive to Xbox 360: 1
Number of titles exclusive to PS3: 0
One sticking point for me, though, is that inclusion of Madden 08. Pull that guy out of there and put in Assassin’s Creed and I think the list would be a little bit better for it. Feel free to head over to their site and see why they think Madden should be included, as well as their full write up on the other titles.
Is there anything coming out by the end of the year that they missed?
[Thanks, John McG]

Mario’s bee costume has a touch of VPL going on there…. not visible panty line, but visible polygon lines.
I personally would have put Dewy in place of either Madden (WTF? Did something change with the series all of a sudden or are they just predicting sales here?), COD4 or Rock Band (yes, I’m hating on Rock Band for its lack of keyboards) but I understand it’s not to everyone’s tastes.
Not that American football, WWII simulators or 4-player rhythm games are to everyone’s tastes either.

And sorry for the double post, but what is with that site putting their article content into a remedial flash applet? It would have been faster and even looked better to do it with DHTML if they really wanted to avoid getting a hit for every page.

Along with Assassin’s Creed,Mass Effect should be in a most anticipated list. Get rid of madden ( Y A W N ) and also Rock band which is cool , but Mass Effect is better.

Assassin’s Creed looks awesome, but frankly, I think many people are going to be upset when Rock Band isn’t good as they expect.

Do you need more prove that Wii can also be hardcore?
Cuz i’ve got it…

Well the problem about rockband is that I can’t see the whole “thing” being any less than $200 which who is going to get that?

Aren’t there still some rumors that rock band will come to Wii?
And aren’t the controllers wired? I’m really looking forward to GHIII because of the wireless controller packed in.
I wish DDR hottest party had wireless pads.

the ommission of bioshock, mass effect, assassin’s creed, and fallout (or is that 08?) are all suspect.
on the other hand- gamespy’s ‘best of E3′ top 10 listed no wii games, which was just as strange.
my own opinion would remove smash bros, guitar hero, and madden. also, i would kick mario galaxy back a spot or two. im looking most forward to mass effect as bioware can do no wrong. behind that is bioshock for me. it’s surprising to not see them represented.

If you want to be technical, that’s 8 games come to Nintendo platforms. Rock Band is coming to the Wii, but at a later date and Call of Duty 4 is coming to the DS.
I would take out Madden and replace it with BioShock or Mass Effect.

Bro… Call of Duty 4 is only coming to the DS in name.
It wont be the same game, obviously. Only the same name. I hope they change the title a little bit somehow.
Ha- it looks like we all agree that Madden needs to be knocked out of the top 10 and Assassins creed and Mass Effect need to take their correct place of honour!
i love how so many Nintendo games are on the list also!

I’m calling it right now…Rock Band is going to be one of the biggest disappointments ever. Paying $200 for a game that is simply a Guitar Hero knock-off with more peripherals is the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard. Otherwise, an expected list.
My list of anticipated titles is as follows:
01. Super Mario Galaxy
02. Metroid Prime: Corruption
03. Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
04. Super Smash Bros. Brawl
05. Trauma Center: New Blood
06. Battalion Wars II
07. Donkey Kong Barrel Blast
08. Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles
09. Zack & Wiki
10. Endless Ocean
“Super Mario Strikers” was very high on my list, but since it comes out in a few days, I’ve taken it off my list. For my money, third party games on Wii won’t get any better than “Trauma Center: New Blood” this holiday season. To have new Mario, Metroid, and Zelda titles arrive so closely is a Nintendo fan’s dream come true

Barrel Blast? Really? I like my Gamecube-port racing games to have analog controls, even when they’re surrealistic.

Dunno… Luminous Arc, perhaps?

It is a bit odd to see Mario and Smash above Halo 3. Sure, they’ll be great games but I just don’t see them monopolizing the lives of as many players as Halo 3 will.
