DS owners get awesome features at baseball stadium

If you live in Seattle, bring your DS to a Mariners game at SAFECO Field. You’ll be able to download special software that lets you watch the game on your DS, order food with a credit card, access player stats, view live scores from around the League, and compete with other fans in trivia and word games. (Not sure about you, but my jaw is on the floor.) If you’re a Mariners fan, you can also buy a limited edition DS Lite emblazoned with the team’s logo.
If this takes off, we’ll hopefully see additional ballparks and stadiums for other sports adopting this incredible new use for the DS.
Any Mariners fans out there? Anyone living near Seattle planning to check this out?

That logo is embedded UNDER the plastic seal, BTW. Not some after market hack job, is what I’m saying. Oh, and Nintendo has a 49% share in the Seattle Mariners, if you’re wondering why the heck they chose that team to do this with.

That is AWESOME. There’s really nothing else you can say… Now how I do convince them to do the same thing at, say, and LSU Tigers game?
Seriously, that kicks some a-money-money. Man…

I wish I could say the Cleveland Indians were 49% owned by Nintendo. Thats incredible.

I’m a fan of the Mariners, but I also live 200 miles from Seattle. I’d love to check this out, that’s wicked awesome.

Wow… And I thought it was cool that I could send comments to Infendo through my DS in its new Opera browser…
This is amazing… I hope we see more features like that using the DS!!

This is great news. I hope it takes off over here in the UK.
Sony have a similar thing with their PSP and at Arsenal Stadium
When I read the PSP/Arsenal news I was a little jealous my DS couldn’t do stuff like that. But fingers crossed.

Now, I’m not a big sports fan or anything, but that is pretty damn cool. Now they just have to do this kind of thing at movie theaters - download a demo of the movie game tie-in, play trivia games, watch trailers, order popcorn, etc. That’d really be cool.

hahaha- micah: ‘please turn off your cell phones and DS’s, and enjoy the show’

Now this is beyond cool. If they could implement this at Mississippi State games (forget you LSU Skyil!) or at all MLB NFL NHL events, I’d be set.
Well that is if I was near any of those stadiums. But here’s to the future!
