tcutk2.jpgAtlus yesterday formally announced the new Trauma Center sequel revealed in the May ‘08 issue of Nintendo Power.

According to the official press release, Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2 is a “direct sequel” to the original 2005 Nintendo DS sleeper hit. Pictured is the official box art from Atlus.

As reported last week on Infendo, Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2 places players back into the role of Dr. Derek Stiles, again assisted by Nurse Angie Thompson. The game takes place immediately after the first DS title; the GUILT virus has been exterminated, but its aftermath remains, leaving players to explore its mysteries. Trauma Center’s notoriously challenging gameplay has been retooled with an easier mode for newcomers and also boasts “improved tool utility.”

Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2 is scheduled to release July 1.

Did anyone else feel a little cheated when Trauma Center for the Wii came out with basically the same stuff as the DS version?

Any idea if the same is going to happen here? If so, I’ll wait for the Wii version which was cooler with the clever gesture controls and nunchuck tool selector.

I’m interested in the sequel, yet I still haven’t finished the original, that game is so damn difficult that I’m stuck on 6-5 and haven’t made any further attempts.

I never played 2nd Opinion so I don’t know what to say in regards of that because it looks like a wii port and that’s it.

New Blood, never played that either but not too worried as it’ll be cheap and easy to get ahold of in the next couple of months. But I’m still extremely interested in this new title, see what they do about the insane difficulty and if they give us new operations.
