What’s your favorite Excite Truck music?

Excite Truck
In case you didn’t know it, Excite Truck is a blast. A fast, extremely high jumping arcade racer that feels completely new by way of motion steering and pitch landing. This one has also gotten mixed reviews despite its new form of strategy with several calling it a good game for casual players. Well I guess I’m a casual gamer ’cause I’m eating this thing up in droves. Better still, it even allows for custom mp3 playlists. That means trance, techno, and hard rock for me. So what’s your favorite custom music for Excite Truck, considering both genres and specific artists?

Early on, I probably would have concurred with the majority that Excitetruck was a solid racer for casual gamers. Having played it extensively lately, however, I’ve discovered the depth and subtle nuances that really put it ahead of the pack. It’s a much better game than most are giving it credit for, and a fantastic racer. Once you unlock a solid selection of trucks and start piling up S ranks to get the mirror courses unlocked, the game really starts to shine. To my surprise, I’ve actually logged more hours on Excitetruck now than either Zelda or Wiiplay (though they’ll probably eventually retake that honor).

To answer the actual question, the Fiji music is the best.

    Ying Yang Twins- Shake
    All American Rejects- Move Along
Benny Benassi- Put your hand up

All of these really get you pumping for a race, ESPECIALLY move along.

    Welcome to the jungle.
    Thunderstruck.
    Pick of destiny.

    Helloween :D
Seriously, “The Departed” is the perfect racing song.

    Off-Topic:
Has anyone else got a annoying sound coming from your DVD-drive in Wii? Imagine half of the 360 noise and you’ve got mine.
When I don’t have a game inserted, it doesn’t come a sound from it. But when I insert a game on the other hand, it starts spinning, and in games like tennis in Wii Sports for example, the sound is very easily heard.
Is it supposed to be like this, or is it my Wii there is something wrong with?

I filled my SD Card with a ton of different songs. My favorites have been when Serphroph’s theme from the Advent Children movie comes on… other than that Fabulous Disaster (http://fabulous-disaster.com) or the first 2 The Distillers CDs have been my favorite tracks.

Excite Trucks’ own soundtrack… I think only have a theme and one track for racing it seems…. *shrug*

    Yeah, they’re a Disaster alright!!!

What do you listen to? Mindless, talentless singers on pop stations or that emo shite?

I hope you were aware this bashing of music was going to happen (as it always does). Then again, anything and everything gets bashed on the internet so… let’s ignore those lamers whining about other’s tastes.

While I don’t have the game yet, the more I hear about people’s positive experiences with the game, as opposed to the whiny review sites like 1up and gamespot, I’m really considering giving this game a shot. That, and I really want a racer and this has caught my eye for a while now. So when I go and (hopefully) purchase my Wii I’ll be sure to get Excite Trueck and have an SD card handy with lots of music.

I’m gonna see what else I’ll listen to but I’m gonna go with the F-Zero soundtrack. Big Blue (GX and original versions), as well as most of the regular track songs, oh and Phoenix and Dr. Stewart’s themes. While I generally dislike techno by itself, it’s awesome for racing. As for regular music, maybe some Stratovarius, Sonata Arctica, Disturbed, System of a Down and Offspring.

It’ll all depend on how big an SD card I buy or if I stick with my 512 card.

I’m looking forward to this game, despite the mixed reviews. To tide me over for SSX Blur, the first song going on there is “It’s Tricky” by Run DMC.

I usually have Dragonforce or classic NES music going while playing Excite Truck.

My SD card is filled with a couple of the Wipeout soundtracks, some Reel Big Fish, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Dragonforce, Hammerfall, and believe it or not, Benny Benassi. It seems he’s showing up on a lot of our SD cards, heh.

I’m rocking an odd mix of Johnny Cash, Kyuss and Pink Floyd’s “Meddle”.

  18. InvisibleMan says...

I don’t have Excite Truck yet, but I already got my racing music in an SD card for when I need it:

The Soundtrack to Run, Lola, Run, and a bunch of tracks from Juno Reactor. For those of you that don’t remember JR, listen to the highway car chase scene music from The Matrix Reloaded, “Mona Lisa Overdrive“. I don’t think you can find better racing music than that!

Meatloaf’s “The Monster Is Loose” from Bat Out of Hell III.

    RUSH’s “Animate” from R30.

    - KT

No Wii or Excite Truck for me yet but I’m leaning towards a few music files that consists of the A-Team theme, “Going Green” theme from the movie Twister, “The Chase” theme from the movie The Rock, the Long Ranger theme, etc. :D Just for fun.

  23. Frisby says...

  25. used routers says...

First, If you don’t have Excite Truck, Buy it now!

I LOVE this game, particularly with your own soundtrack. I’m having a hard time unlocking the mirror courses. This game is challenging if you take it seriously.

And yes, as you get further, there really is strategy. You need to know the vehicles in and out so you can choose the perfect vehicle for each course. Its not like some racers where you unlock better and better cars and finally get to the point where you drive the same one all the time.

If you try this, you’ll hit a wall and wont be able to progress until you go back and pick different cars with different stats.

Anyway, as for the music, I’m loving my Black Eyed Peas (somehow “Lets get retarded” sounds just right to describe the massive air you get), Beastie Boys, and Basement Jaxx.
