I think it does. Its a limited bundle, after the holidays, you can only buy the zapper on its own.its a treat 4 the fans that want it right when it comes out. And its $20!

Justify? Not really. It will probably be the reason for at least half of the zapper sales. And I bet for half of those the zapper will be used once or twice, then set aside or traded in. I’m looking at it as “Link’s Crossbow Training (with bonus Wii Zapper!)” more than anything else.

I still don’t like how Nintendo approached the idea of the zapper. In its final form (heh) it adds no functionality at all, it’s just a hunk of plastic. If they stuck with their prototype idea where the analog stick was part of the zapper itself, and maybe a few extra buttons on each side for future games, then I might see it being a reasonable purchase. But as it is now I don’t see it as any better than the Wii Sports Pack that Gamestop is selling: useless.

I just can’t justify dropping money on this when there’s so many other things I’d prefer to buy over the next 3-4 months (game wise). MP3 isn’t out in NZ/Aus yet, Mario is going to be out for XMas, SSBB early next year. I just don’t see it as being necessary with all the other forms of gaming entertainment around.

Plus I still have to buy and play Phantom Hourglass.

The Zapper is simply useless. You can play the game without it, and it’s got a “mario Kart Steering Wheel” junk factor to it, for some reason.

    Pass.

I love how even though this game doesn’t have multiplayer they have other people in the room pointing at stuff on the screen. Wouldn’t that annoy you in real life? “Quick, hit the target! Aww you missed. Look, there’s another target!”

I will be purchasing it, especially for the price. Although wasn’t RE: Umbrella Chronicles supposed to also come with the Zapper?

Kevin, it is annoying to some, like me, but it happens all the time in real life. i do it to others, and they do it to me. you cant help but know whats best about how to play a game.

besides, the game that comes with it looks great. worth $20 at least. and there is no doubt holding the wiimote controls like a gun will feel different then otherwise, its just whether it will feel more interesting, or nothing at all.

for me, i like stuff like this. but you not liking it doesnt make it a bad product, it just makes it not for you. i promise that if you put it into the hands of a person less experienced with gaming but open to fps games, they will jump in much easier. 90% chance of that at least.

I thought parents hated the Zapper? :-)

But it’s a well made POS plastic accessory!

Depending on the actual gameplay value…I MAY get it ($20 is cheap), but I doubt any game will be designed with it in mind.

Simply cause I’m a Zelda fan, I shall be getting this as soon as (and if) it is released in Europe. I will also probably be getting umbrella chronicles and medal of honor (32 player online ^_^). I should be getting quite a bit of usage out of this thing.

I think the zelda minigames my be worth the $20, so I might pick this up. Could be fun for the shooting games. I just want to be able to remap all the controls so I can shoot with my back (Z on the nunchuck) trigger.

Considering I spent about $35 on Phantom Hourglass, and since this game is only going to be $20 with the Zapper which may or may not prove to be useful in the future, I’ll buy it. I’m a Zeldork, what can I say?

Plus, like I said, this thing may be useful in the future. Who knows what games will support it. It could be really great! And the price tag isn’t too bad, either.

  12. Barlow says...

Anyone else notice that the majority of the people are using it as though they are left handed? It seems like it would be more natural to use the trigger on the nunchuk and actually hold it like a real gun. Just my thought.

Link’s Crossbow Training to justify Wii Zapper?
So far, from what I have seen, No, not really.

As said earlier, there are just TO MANY great games on so many video game systems to justify buying this plastic and cheap looking gimmick. Unless, the game turns out to be more than just a mini game, a full blown Zapper game. then, for its cheap price tag, it could very well justify the Zapper.

    Time will tell.

  14. Ace says...

My God, you guys are either really discerning or really cheap. The game itself looks like it could be worth 20 dollars on its own; it’s a very small price to pay for a peripheral that could prove to be useful in the future. You used to pay $20 for a single memory card in the Playstation era, and now you can’t spend it on the Zapper + a game?
