Epic Mickey launches November 30

Epic Mickey, the Wii-exclusive that should have been a 2D platformer but will will probably rock our faces off anyway, will arrive on November 30, Disney Interactive Studios confirmed to Infendo today. A new streamlined launch trailer also arrived in our inbox, and is available here: I’m buying. Who else’s buyin’ what Warren Spector’s laying down?

Unconfirmed: German paper touts November 11 3DS launch date

Is the Nintendo 3DS launching in Japan on November 11? Possibly yes, if a German tabloid with a track record for calling Nintendo rumors correctly is to be believed. Case in point, according to Bild, which cites no source but nevertheless definitively lists a Japanese launch date, the 3DS is arriving in Nippon on November 11. No word was given on a U.S. or European launch date, save for “spr...

What non-gaming activities are you participating in this weekend?

Me? I’m watching college football all freaking weekend, including a trip to Lavell Edwards Stadium to hopefully see BYU beat Nevada in a game of gridiron, tickets courtesy of my well-placed uncle. (Go, Cougars!) What about you? What non-gaming stuff are you doing this weekend? Got any exciting plans you want to share?

Completely unsurprising Wiimote with MotionPlus built in outed by GameStop

Wow! What a shock! GameStop, as they are wont to do with new products and kit, has inadvertently outed an all-in-one Wiimote/MotionPlus combo controller with their listing for the sure-fire sleeper hit of the holiday season, FlingSmash. Looks like the new controller is going to be bundled in with this game (and probably many others) sometime in early November. And, since it’s going to inevit...

Nintendo is 121 years young today

Nintendo, huh? OLD. Today the venerable gaming company, which has defined so many gamers’ lives—not to mention an entire industry—turned 121 years old. Most people know this already, but I say it again: Back in the late 1800s, Nintendo was a card company. Since then, it’s created toys, taxi cabs and of course video games. Happy birthday, Nintendo!

Sonic Colors: Stale, or Classic?

I originally held this post back because of video problems but thanks to Nathan Janc over at New Nintendo we’ve actually got a pretty lengthy look at YouTuber SonicStadiumFox playing Sonic Colors at PAX 2010. Analysis after the jump.

This looks pretty freakin’ fun, oooooooh!

It’s like Just Dance with better dancing, music, and cooler graphics. Disclosure: I think MJ is a top 5 musician all time, right up there with Mozart, The Beatles, and Gwar. Okay, maybe not Gwar, but you get the idea.

My old DS shuns retirement

There it sits on my coffee table: My Ol’ Fat Blue DS, its empty GBA port gaping like a Death Star hangar. I bought it five years ago, and I’m not ashamed to admit I bought it to play Nintendogs. I always intended to buy a DS Lite”¦or DSi”¦or DSi XL if Fat Blue bit the dust. But the little marvel just keeps going and going. I’ve had no reason to upgrade. What an incredible little ...

With exception to Nintendo, Japanese game-makers suck

Or so says the New York Times: “I look around Tokyo Games Show, and everyone’s making awful games; Japan is at least five years behind,” said Keiji Inafune, 45, head of global research and development at Capcom and one of Japan’s most prominent game designers. “Capcom is barely keeping up,” he said in an interview at the show, which ended Sunday. “I want to study how Westerners live,...
