Yet another reason Canada rocks

Canada abounds in treasures: spectacular scenic wonders, beautiful cities, rich history, amazing wildlife, a terrific national anthem, Mounties, the Calgary Stampede, Victoria Harbour…and a town that shares its name with my favorite Nintendo character.

I recently returned to the States after a fantastic road trip through British Columbia with my father. We met wonderful people along the way, took an incredible Sea Plane flight over Victoria and visited historic ports and small towns all along the length of Vancouver Island–including the (proudly unincorporated) town of Bowser. It’s a quiet, charming place, and I’m sure I looked odd to the locals as I ran around taking photos of signs while my very patient and understanding dad kept the car engine running. I was hoping to get a shot of a Bowser Wedding Chapel or Bowser Italian Barbecue, but no such luck.
