Wii Zapper pack-in will be Zelda game
Monday, September 10th, 2007 at 10:04am by Jack
I’ve been *barely* on the fence about purchasing a Wii Zapper, and I still am today, although I’ve finally decided to swing over an entire leg as opposed to just parking my butt on it. Why? Because after defeating Twilight Princess and seeing the Phantom Hourglass hype build and build, I am officially a Zelda whore. That said, today I am at the mercy of the Wii Zapper, which will come packed with a Legend of Zelda crossbow training game included in the $20 asking price.
From ars technica to Joystiq, via a GameStop conference:
Apparently Gamestop managers meeting for their annual conference have been told that the Wii Zapper will launch with pack-in game Zelda Crossbow Training. As Ars Technica’s source told them, “The game looked beautiful. I’m pretty sure it was running on the Twilight Princess engine. It’s a third-person game, and you had some control over Link.”
Sure, I’ll probably only use the Zapper to play the crossbow training game before I discard it to that dusty corner that contains my Virtual Boy (Mario Tennis, virtual edition still locked into the unit’s rosy red frame)… but it’s Zelda people. I am powerless.

I don’t know about you Jack, but I’m pretty excited for RE: Umbrella Chronicles, Ghost Squad (I’ve always liked Time Crisis at the movie theatres), and am getting more and more excited about MoH: Heroes 2. All of these of course will utilize the Wii Zapper.
I’m pumped that we will get a “free” Zelda crossbow training to demo how to use this add-on. But I for one will be using this accessory for some good gaming. I just wish they could have made RE4 for the Wii capable of using this.

What? You weren´t a Zelda whore? Well i´am a big Zelda whorw, that´s why i will buy this even twice heheh, hope it is true.

Well this sure is a nice nod to all the faithful fans
I must say that as time goes by, what seemed really stupid at first now starts looking kind of tempting. Even though I’m not entirely sure if the capabilities of something that is made to look like a _good_ is showcased by a _crossbow_ game

I hope it works well with Metroid Prime 3… that’s the real reason I’m excited about the Zapper!

The Zapper could never work for Prime 3 Invis you must be kidding.

” hope it works well with Metroid Prime 3″
Well, since you need the Nunchuk for that game, i really don´t think that´s gonna be compatible.
However, i´m totally hyped for Umbrella Chronicles and Medal of Honor, those games will be schweeet.

I’ve never played a Zelda game. (dodges rocks) but a crossbow game controlled with a zapper? Hmm… I knew asking for a Metroid Prime Hunters deathmatch game was too much too ask for.
You think I’m gonna buy this thing? Of course I am!

Couldn’t've said it better myself Jack. We can be Zelda whores together.

Don’t get your hopes up yet. Nintendo hasn’t confirmed anything yet, they may change their minds about this.
And of course it would work with MP3. You can attach the nunchuck to it.

Is this that fabled Zelda game due for 08?
September 10th, 2007 at 7:14 pm
Nintendo did confirm it to Gamasutra earlier today. I’ll probably give it a try for 20 bucks.

Hell yeah!! Count me in!
I don´t know how a company could deliver some more fanservice!

For only $19.99, including the Wii Zapper itself, I don’t expect an amazing Zelda game here. Anyone getting really excited may be in for an unpleasant surprise when they get there hands on the actual little game.
And it probably wont be enough to make me buy the peripheral.
But if the game turns out to be more than a demo of sorts, maybe it would be worth buying after all. I know that this has at the least, got my interests. Which is more than this Zapper has been able to do before.

I dont care if it’ll be a demo or a nice little game like Wiisports… either way, it’ll be cool, but even cooler because i want RE:UC and GS!111!

@ InvisibleMan and Vibe
Sure, it’ll “work” for MP3, but what about those times when you need to throw the nunchuk forward and snap it back? You could do it, but it would totally break the experience. You’re supposed to feel like you’re controlling Samus’ two arms.

@ Droop4
Wii sports was not a “littel game”, it was a full fleged game, one of the best I have ever played and still play.
Wii play is more like a ” little game” and that is what i expect from this.
