Wii Video Games Blamed For Rise In Effeminate Violence

Monday, March 17th, 2008 at 10:55am by David

slapfight225.jpgMayor “Mumbles” Menino may be on to something after all.

Reported by the Onion:

The Wii, now the most popular gaming system in the country, most recently came under fire last month, when 15-year-old Los Angeles student Brian Strickland, who reportedly plays Wii Sports tennis, was expelled for flicking his wrist back and forth at a fellow sophomore’s head. And in January, 12-year-old Boulder, CO native Andrew Conner, a fan of the WarioWare: Smooth Moves game, was hospitalized after swinging his arm like an elephant trunk into members of the eighth-grade boys basketball team.

Have you noticed any change in children you know? Has Wii made you yourself more susceptible to fits of effeminate violence?

[Thanks, Dr. Blood!]

Wii causes violence. Or it could just be horseplay, the very thing kids have always done since the dawn of man.

“hospitalized for swinging his arm like an elephant trunk” dude number one why was he hospitalized? was it after the basketball team kicked his ass for walking around like an elephant in 8th grade. number two who gets expelled for flicking their wrists? what kind of world are we living? this is crazy…

    @ actraiser

Either you are using a ton of dry sarcasm, or you should know that this is a fake news story thats what the onion does.

However i agree in principle with what your saying, things are getting crazy

I got violent after I played The Godfather. I punched a guy in the jaw, several times and really fast, just like when you try to extract money from those shop-owners. I was also drunk. So, maybe me being drunk was the cause? It ended up with me selling The Godfather and avoiding violent games. Well, gonna buy No More Heroes as the violence in the game is with a sword and I don’t own a sword, so no fear of me slashing around with a sword after I play NMH.
