Wii games that will feature online play

A lot of people seem disappointed that the Wii doesn’t have any online playable games. This will of course change in June with the release of Pokemon Battle Revolution, but what other games will feature Wi-Fi Connection online play?
These titles have been confirmed to have online play:
Battalion Wars 2
Forever Blue
Guitar Hero III
Mario Strikers Charged
Pokemon Battle Revolution
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
The following titles are not confirmed, but various interviews indicate that online play is being considered:
Animal Crossing
The Bigs
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
MySims
No More Heroes
It’s not a very large list and a lot of these games don’t have a firm release date, but it sure sounds like a fun list so far. Cross-platform titles like The Bigs and the upcoming Madden 08 will definitely have online play for other systems, but whether or not Wii will get to play along is another question.
[Thanks for putting the question to us, Cap'n Jack!]
[Note: Games using Connect24 (such as Elebits or the upcoming Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree) don't count on this list since you're not actively playing the game online.]

If they don’t do an on line play with Animal Crossing, I would start a riot…

By the way, most of us knew about these titles having online play… I think the dissappointment in online play is not so much that there will not be online play, as why has there been no clue as to what this online play will be like?
Also, I am afraid that the current minimum requirements to connect your Wii to Connect 24 and the online shop will fall short to the requirements to actually play a game online!
I set up my brother-in-law’s Wii online connection the other day… he has a wireless router, so it was a snap to get it going. However, I noticed that any downloads and connection took three to five times longer through his connection than with mine.
I’ve stayed “old school”, and kept my wired router to connect my computer, my Xbox, and my Wii (I bought the Wii’s cable connection for wired routers for $20), and my connection in all these systems is usually super-fast and very reliable. Previously, I had been using the USB “dongle” through my computer to connect my Wii. The difference is like night and day!
This leads me to believe that Nintendo will either require people to upgrade the way they connect their Wii online, which will royally p-off most users, or they will have to extremely compromise online play (Metroid Prime TBS, maybe??)
What are other readers experiences with Wii online connectivity, I wonder?
(What, did you think I was going to leave with a measly one-line comment?? Think again!)

Can’t wait for BWii. I really hope they have online co-op so I can team up with a friend in another state. I don’t care so much about multi player, I just want online co-op. Please !

Thanks for the answers, Infendo!! Been difficult to find all this info in one place.

I hope the Bigs is online enabled. I mean how can it not be? Sports games are so much better when playing someone else when you’re home alone.
As for WiFi connection, I have my Wii connected to my Cisco Linksys Wireless Router. It is just as fast as any landline or my normal computer when I download content.
In fact its wire freedom.

There are a TON of factors that can effect the speed of wireless and wired connections… although wired seems a little less messy.
As for Animal Crossing… I don’t think there’s any doubt that it’ll take full advantage of online connectivity.

Animal Crossing will probably be confirmed; DS version online is great.
And Smash… Let the games begin.

Mario Strikers online is going to be awesome!

As far as connectivity speed goes, I fully expect to shell out for the wired adapter sooner or later. A wireless connection just isn’t as fast as a wired connection, 90% of the time.
For some games, I don’t think a super fast connection would be as big a deal. But for games like Smash Bros, I think you’d really need it.
That said, didn’t Nintendo say Mario Galaxy was going to have some kind of 2 player co-op mode?
