How do you even begin to review a device like Wii Fit? Jack will hopefully answer that question for us soon, but until then we’ll have to look at Metacritic and GameRankings. They give us an average ranking of 80% based on over 30 reviews. Anyone pick it up today? What do you think about it?

I’m getting it after work.
I’m not surprised by the 80 ranking at all. Wasn’t Wii Sports around that?? I’m going to enjoy it for what it’s worth, and innovative piece of hardware with fun software included.

Picked it up at lunch.
They are going really fast and the people buying it are all different ages.

If there ever was a game that was impossible to score according to traditional gaming standards, Wii Fit is it.

80% seems about right in my book.

My pre-order arrived from Amazon today, and funny enough I work at Best Buy and got to see the mob of people swarm the pathetic supply we had and could have sold a few hundred copies this morning alone. (We only got 88 copies). I’m at me primary job now though, so no Wii Fit until late tonight for me

I got mine around 4:15PM today from the United Republic Of China (anyone know what that means?) It’s still in the box because I am messing with Wii Ware for the first time, and trying to decide what I want to download.

The whole family is playing it right now. Walked into Kmart and walked away with one of the last 2 copies. Complete interaction with family and friends using existing Miis. Can’t wait to unlock more games, also looking forward to Skate It, tony hawk?!?, UT3 or any other FPS or RPG

Picked up our pre-order and have been at since the end of work. Man am I outta shape. I think there’s some true potential here for actually getting in to shape. It’ll probably cause someone to have a heart attack shortly. The games are fun, can’t wait to unlock them all. As for the life of this peripheral.. Hard to say. Then again who would have thought putting a wii mote in your pocket can mimic running so well..
If Nintendo can maintain our hunger for more it’ll do just fine. I’m sure we’ll see another batch of exercises and maybe even a surfing game we’ll actually want. (That just came to me)

Shopper’s Drug Mart (big pharmacy chain in Canada) has the only copies left in town. I was lucky.

Played it and gained a little over 1 hr of “points”.
I am really digging the Yoga workouts. The games are also fun. I really want to unlock the snow boarding. The skiing is just perfect for this.

For a game that people were losing interest in, my local Best Buy was sold out within 5 minutes (I got there 15 minutes after). They had a huge stock in back, but it was all pre-orders. The Game Stop up the street sold their last one as I walked in.
So I guess I will wait. Though I hear if you are pretty active it won’t benefit you as much as if you are more of a couch potato.
But my husband said he wanted it and I could have fun with it doing the sking and such.
So I will get one…but I suspect it will be the Rarity of finding a Wii all over again.

I got mine this morning at FYE. They had quite a few of them and now rush. I might go pick another for my sister for her birthday. I have gotten 38 points so far and have found Wii Fit to be really fun and enjoyable. I stink at some of the Yoga. I really enjoy the Ski Jump. At first I couldn’t stop jumping. I am going to see if I can get a daily routine of wii fit and see if it makes a difference.

So maybe I just didn’t think about it too much, but I didn’t realize all the sensing is done via the little nubs on the bottom of the board.
I was think the board itself was some sort of sensing machine. Makes sense I suppose, just kind of a let down. I see no reason why you couldn’t use shoes. All the demos have people using socks or bare feet which led me to believe that the board was sensitive to contact. But no….just has sensitivity nubs.

Got mine yesterday and my wife and I love Wii Fit. We’re trying out We Ski tonight.
Wii Fit really honest to goodness IS ‘it’.

Got it yesterday and put in a couple hours with the GF. What a blast! The balance games are extremely fun and the workouts are quite a workout (I thought they’d be cheesey, but they really do require effort). Even though I mostly got the Balance Board for the games that I hope are to come (can anyone say FPS using the balance board to move and the Zapper to shoot?) the included minigames and workouts are very entertaining. I may just have to pick up We Ski cuz the skiing minigame is great. Any one play it yet and how is it?

Can’t find one anywhere now.
Shoulda pre-ordered!

I’m still getting it, just not as soon as I hoped.

I picked one up at Target yesterday. There were three sitting behind the counter in the electronics department, and two people in front of me (one being a 20-something looking guy and the other an older lady) each bought one. So, I don’t know if I got the last one or not… but either way I would say they are selling well.
I haven’t played every game or exercise yet, but what I have tried so far has been incredibly fun (and surprisingly quite a workout too). It’s definitely a winner and the price tag is well worth it.
