Friday, October 26th, 2007 at 6:12pm by Jake

papermoney250This new monthly feature lists the past months cheap deals on all Wii hardware, software and accessories. All of the following information is compiled by our own forums administrator, Jake Barber! Expect to be provided with up to date bargain bin headlines. Just remember we have a lot of titles right around the corner so try not to exceed your gaming budget!

Software

Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire $39.99
Blake said that it was worth your Fourty Americans, So why not pick it up?

The Godfather: Blackhand Edition $29.99-$19.99
Quite simply, at thirty bucks, this game is an offer you can’t refuse, Capiche? This is basicly the closest to a GTA game on the Wii… For now, that is. Some smart shoppers have even found some at twenty bucks. So keep on the look out.

Mercury Meltdown Revolution $19.99
From the PSP comes Mecury Meldown Revolution, the third in it’s series. At the unpeckable price of 20 bucks, this deserves a place in your Wii collection.

Rayman Raving Rabbids $29.99
A hilarious collection of crazy mini games that utilize the remote fairly well. Might want to wait for a $19.99 price.

Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition $29.99
It was one of the greatest games on the GameCube, but it has now been ported over. The controls, graphics, gameplay, and everything else is Top-Notch!

Rockstar’s Table Tennis $39.99
Yet another port in the Wii Library, this game will get you playing ping pong at a perfect price.

Victorious Boxers Revolution $39.99
This game seems pretty good. It just might be worth that extra cash…

Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure $39.99
IGN: 9/10, Nintendo Power: 9/10, GameSpot 8.5 of 10, 1up 9 out of 10. Open wallet, withdraw forty dollars, exchange for game, put wallet away, remove disk, insert into Wii system.

    I can’t find Mercury Meltdown anywhere. :\

  2. droop4 says...

    Z&W is a must have!!

  3. NeuroMan42 says...

Z&W is stunning, and have had no luck finding Meltdown either.

  4. DonWii says...

Same here, still looking for Meltdown.
    Got Z&W already.

  5. Cantide says...

Z&W is a must buy; truly great game. I haven’t seen Meltdown yet either.. I really enjoyed Marble Madness, and am looking forward to playing Meltdown.. whenever I manage to find a copy

Look places OTHER than Gamestop for Mercury. It’s a challenging puzzle game with tons of levels, very much worth $20.

The Godfather game surprised me. Never seen the movies, and never cared to. But the game is really fun (And I’m not that into GTA either).

RE4… just perfect. Once you beat the game, there’s a ton of great content added to the mix, so the replay value is pretty high, even for a full-priced game.

I saw Rayman: Raving Rabbids for $29.99 on an endcap @ my local Target under “Great Values.” Seems like a good deal. I’ll check these suggestions out too!

  8. DonWii says...

^Yeah. RRR, along with most Ubisoft Wii games, were discounted to $30 or below.

  9. Jake says...

Thanks to all for the RRR info. I’ll add it.

I’ve actually seen Mercury Meltdown Revolution at Best Buy before (at two different locations), so I should think that they carry it everywhere. But I could be wrong.

I’d love to go out and buy Z&W, but my budget is not very high where games are concerned, and I already have my copy of Galaxy pre-ordered and payed for. Maybe in the future, though.

  11. Necro says...

Strangely enough, Gamestop was the only place near me with Mercury. Both Best Buy and Circuit City had it arriving next week.

  12. Necro says...

..also to tack on, I’ve read that Victorious Boxers isn’t good primarily because of shoddy controls. Might want to rent to try first.

  13. Brian says...

Not to repeat myself, but 39.99 is not bargain pricing. We might as well say that 49.98 is bargain pricing. To me 19.99 to 24.99 is bargain pricing for videogames.

  14. Chris says...

I don’t agree with victorious or dragon blade, half because they’re both 40 and and half because they are both really not worth it when taking into account what you could use that money for. First of all, dragon blade is a rent-only game as it has no replay value, and second it’s just a waggle cash in that failed on most parts. Victorious has really weird controls that I felt bad seeing one of the devs explain in an interview. You could tell it wasn’t going to work. Zack and wiki is a given, and it’s not a bargain bin game it’s just a reduced price point, so it doesn’t really deserve to be on this list just like some of the others. However, if people were going to buy two bargain bin games they might as well just get Z&W :P.

  15. Atlantis1982 says...

I beg to differ, Chris; Victorious is really good if you bother to change your control scheme. :P

  16. used cisco says...

    @chris,

Yeah, I’ll take issue too. Dragon Blade is good fun, the “waggle” as you call it, works really well. Once I got used to it, I can do pretty much whatever sword stroke I like at will. It seems to work as advertised.

I will say though, that $40 is not bargain bin. Even $29.99 is not bargain bin. These are budget titles, yes, but not bargain bin. To me, bargain bin is stuff that has been significantly marked down from its originally offered price.

  17. wii wii says...

I have no time for these barging bin games. Not with all the great DS, Wii and 360 games on my must have list.
Still if you never played RE4 before. The remake with Wii waggle tacked on will be worth its discounted price tag!

  18. gojiguy says...

Am i the only person who has no interest in Z&W?

  19. Tuff Kong says...

I’ve had a lot more fun with Kororinpa marble mania than I have to date with mercury meltdown. The graphics, sound and controls are far superior for kororinpa are far superior IMO.

  20. srkelley says...

Scarface is a much better and closer tie to GTA on Wii than Godfather. The game controls magnificently and isn’t just a mere GTA knockoff, but as far as being the closest thing to GTA on the Wii, Scarface takes that spot. Godfather was marked as a cock-a-roach and stomped by Tony.
